Do Deep Silver Hate Women?

Wesley Copeland writes...

"Back in January, Deep Silver announced the Zombie Bait Edition of Dead Island Riptide. The controversial collector’s edition contained a severed female torso in a Union Jack bikini – presumably because Britain is known for its sunny weather and bikini clad gals. I’m under the impression the torso is some sort of wank-aid for boys with zombie fetishes."

I don't think that is a fair assumption because you might as well judge them for hating families and or children in their teaser trailer when a family gets attacked by Zombies. This promotion was all about the mixture of sex selling and gore. It was a shocker publicity that as a prime example now worked very well, because people are still talking about it. Also you have some typos to look over especially the part where you write “Bitch, shut up. Our pre-orders were though he roof! Don’t like it? Go tell someone who cares!” (Through).

I see where you are going with this, but eh Walking dead gave away key chain ears for pre-orders and Lollipop chainsaw gave away her boyfriends head. Nice job making gamers thing.

More importantly, do they hate Zombies? They seem intent on providing us with as many ways as possible to harm, wound and dismember them as possible, clearly demonstrating a deep seated hatred of these innocent shambling corpses, a hater somehow possibly relating to their parents or some such other standard psychological accusation.

That's the real issue here. We need to defend these poor zombies! The women can look after themselves, they have brains, they can think! The Zombies can't!

SAVE THE ZOMBIES!!

P.S. If you took this comment serious, you too many have deep seated psychological issues.

ApolloTheBoss4699d ago

Oh come on. If that was a man's torso no one would complain, would they?

VGI4699d ago

No they wouldn't. The reason being sexism is a much, much bigger problem on the men vs women front than women vs men.

Yes, there are women who hate men, and they're just as wrong for doing so, but it's a smaller problem when compared to how men see women, especially in the videogame industry.

It's worth noting the equivalent, in torso terms, would be a man's groin in a thong, which I think people would still moan about.

Hicken4694d ago

But no one would write an article stating that Deep Silver hated men if it were that, instead.

Between this and your GOW review, I smell hit-grabbing.

SavageKuma4699d ago

Actually they would of complained about the nature of selling a body part.

That's pretty cool, but didn't they just lay of 10k as a whole. Reportedly some from the gaming division even.

Confused in pa.

Sonyslave3902d ago

This is called good PR. And an opportunity to hire veterans over scrubs.

phoenixwing901d ago

Not to call them scrubs but yeah some veteran devs are more welcome than others with less experience

Flakegriffin901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

You can hire veterans all day long but it’s the talent Microsoft lacks.

Zeref902d ago (Edited 902d ago )

It was mostly outside of gaming. Most of the game studios weren't affected besides 343i and Coalition from what I recall

Charlieboy333901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

But of course. Just look at the latest Saint's Row....that is exactly the level of quality and writing that Xbox strives for these days.

Aloymetal901d ago

Nope, like Redfall, Craig infinite

There u go. This is way more acceptable than buying up studios. Buy individual talent until you strengthen your already owned studios. 👏🏽

Deep Silver Says No Saints Row, TimeSplitters or Dead Island at E3

Deep Silver has revealed that several of its major franchises would not be at E3 2021 or the Summer Game Fest.

execution171736d ago

Kind of expected TS4 not to be there since they just got a team together for it

Duke191736d ago

Why even show up then? (kidding...ish)

DOMination-1735d ago

Their parent (Embracer) owns close to 70 studios now and they have ~150 games in development.. but those three are certainly amongst the largest IP they hold so not an unfair point..

Dead Island 2 is such a weird one - it reminds me of Homefront in that its a sequel to a fairly ordinary game and going through multiple developers and concepts.. unless it is shaping up to be properly amazing, at some point somebody needs to just say this game isn't worth the time and money.

strayanalog1736d ago

Some truth in advertising here, as they must really know something(y) that I don't know.

I just hope that the next Saint's Row is a bit more grounded. SR2 was great because in terms of gameplay and story it had just enough wackiness. SR3 was good, and fun, but got a bit too crazy adding zombies and all that. Just go back to what made SR2 so great.
