The boys at BioWare said they took their inspiration for Mass Effect, their hit sci-fi roleplaying game for the Xbox 360, from their favorite science fiction films of the late '70s and early '80s. The claim seems disingenuous. Why not just say Star Wars and be done with it? Mass Effect consists of the Mos Eisley Cantina, the bounty hunters from Empire and Jabba's Palace, plus Force powers. Whom do they think they're kidding?

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."
I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed
Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.
So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?
Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

Thanks to their innovative approach to gaming, RPGs like Dark Souls, Final Fantasy VII, and Dragon Quest left a significant impact on the genre.
ES3 set things off, it's a shame they got greedy and decided to cut corners so the executives could get huge pay days.

GF365: "A friend makes the adventure all the more fun. Here are the best video game companions that will keep you company."
someone forgot to take their meds. I think Mr. Huling needs to be reminded that Mass Effect is a game, not a History Channel Biography. Jeez. Stop taking everything so literally. For what it's worth, Mass Effect is amazing. It's original, and has an incredibly detailed world that most games could only dream of having. Are there similarities between it and Star Wars, Star Trek, etc? Absolutely. But, name me a sci-fi game that doesn't share those similarities and I'll give you a cookie for finding the impossible.
...as those TV shows.
In truth, Shepard and the Spectres map better to Kimball Kinnison, Gray Lensman, and the Lensmen Series, than Star Wars. DOC SMITH is the source from which *everybody* steals. (You just wish they admitted it more often.)
Jedi's were *not* the first Space Knights/Cops, you know.
Lucas stole from Doc Smith.
If you haven't read them, pick up GALACTIC PATROL and GRAY LENSMAN and the rest of Doc Smith's works (Skylark Series, etc) and be amazed at home much of modern sci-fi and adventure fiction was lifted from his works. (Just bear in mind the prose is a wee bit dated; the stories *are* 60-80 years old...)
As for the article, its not a bad rumiation.
He takes himself way too seriously but, unlike many other MASS EFFECT commentators, this guy has at least played the game to level 20... :-)
future Mass Effect game titles that will require 6 discs probably, peace out.....
To bore gamers to death with it's 5000 hours worth of boring diolouge! Ahahahahhahahaha!
