Looks very similar to dark souls...and thats a good thing.

camel_toad4781d ago (Edited 4781d ago )

Odds are that thing in the pic hurts.

Gimmemorebubblez4781d ago (Edited 4781d ago )

As long as its a challenge and stays true to the series then count me in. NamcoBandai, if this game loses what made it special then PREPARE for a Demon to Arise from thyn N4g comment section.

Freddy_Millz14781d ago (Edited 4781d ago )

Trolls, demons and other lowly trash arise from the bowels of the the N4G comments section every 3 secs. Im curious to know what will make u stand out.

Gimmemorebubblez4781d ago (Edited 4781d ago )

Hahahaha! What I meant is that it would be RE6 all over again.
And on a side note I present to you an enchanted "bubbles up" for making me laugh so you can fight the "Trolls, demons and other lowly trash arise from the bowels of the the N4G comments section every 3 secs."

thereapersson4781d ago

Dunno why you got 7 disagrees and no agrees. Your comment was hilarious. Bubble up for great justice!

LightofDarkness4781d ago

Looks like it might be current gen after all. Not a bad thing.

Zer0bros4781d ago

I haven't even played Dark Souls yet. I don't know if I want to though but if it's like Skyrim, then I'll get it. And if I enjoy it, then I'll get Dark Souls 2 as soon as it comes out

xabmol4781d ago

I love Dark Souls and can't stand Skyrim, so...

You might wanna try it before you make any monetary commitments.

dark-hollow4781d ago

the combat in dark souls and the difficulty is way and beyond skyrim

Zer0bros4781d ago

Yeah I heard Dark Souls is insanely difficult.

Is it an exaggeration? Or is it REALLY that difficult?

Zichu4781d ago

@Zer0bros

It feels difficult to begin with, but you get used to it. It's all about timing. Block and dodge attacks, find an opening and you will find a flaw in the enemies attack pattern.

Don't just go all out, because you will die.

Oh and did I mention you will die a hell of a lot, so if that happens, you aren't doing anything wrong lol

greatcrusader444781d ago

Its difficult, but I beat it and I don't consider myself that great at games and the fact I enjoyed it means its not frustratingly hard.

Your going to die, a lot, like easily past the 100s, but when you realize your supposed to die and that it's just another mechanic to the game rather than it being a sign of failure, that's when the game gets good.

Zer0bros4781d ago

Wow.. never really heard of a game that actually wants the gamers to die more (in game of course)

Hm I might just buy a copy of Dark Souls for my PS3 right now!

Cam9774781d ago

You don't know What difficult it until you've slated Ornstein on anything above NG+

xabmol4781d ago

As a Soul lvl 1?

Yeah, that was fun. Prase the sun for pyromancy!

RyuCloudStrife4781d ago (Edited 4781d ago )

They just made Demon's Souls free on PS+ in case you have PS+ you can try that game for free. Dark Souls is the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, so you can get a taste of the difficulty.

(Assuming you haven't played Demon's Souls)...

mt4781d ago

@Zer0bros i always remember the first time i played demon souls, I thought i was playing hack & slash games. I was so forward and offensive towards enemies I guess I was barbarian like kratos but that didn't work at all I gave up playing demon soul for one year but I kept my copy because i love the game. after one year i finished the game.

BlackTar1874781d ago

zero if you haven't played Demon Soul play that personally love both games but something about Demon soul makes it magical. Its actually the worlds i loved walking thru a gate and having a complete theme world with a central location. Dark souls had what i described in a sense. But demon soul just made the world beyond the doors seem more engrossing.

user76939584781d ago

@Zer0bros if you have a PS3 you have to also get Demon Souls! come one!! any pS3 owner should play it!!!! plus i bet you csn find it at a cheap price!

PiTCHBLaCK4780d ago

@ Zer0bros

What makes things tough in DS is not just the combat, you learn how to fight, but when you die you drop all of your money and you are Resurrected and must get your money back before you die again, if you don't then the money you dropped is gone.

Also you can't save the game, it saves every few secs on it's own.

It's nothing like Skyrim. And I feel the same as xabmol, hate Skyrim but love Dark Souls (easily my favourite game of all time).

Many of those who hate Dark Souls II hate it because it's not Dark Souls. The same people love Dark Souls III because it isn't Dark Souls II.

And so many of the issues at the centre of common complaints about DS2 are present in DS3 and sometimes even DS1. The hatred and bile spewed over this perfectly decent game is ludicrous.

CrimsonWing69367d ago

I don’t think it’s a terrible game, but like a movie sequel by a different director, for me, it does NOT capture any of the “magic” felt from the Miyazaki entries. Boss battles don’t feel epic, environments don’t have the same sense of awe, the enemy variety isn’t particularly interesting, the art direction just feels bland, about the only thing I can give it praise for is some of the music.

Now, again, this is only how I feel about it, so I’m not trying to invalidate his you feel about the game, but it is the worst entry in the series due to those factors and it’s the least re-visited entry, for me.

Is it decent as a game on its own? Sure. But in comparison to the Miyazaki entries, it does not stack up and I believe that’s where many were disappointed with it.

PrimeVinister367d ago

Completely fair. I cannot disagree either, mate.

MrWood367d ago (Edited 367d ago )

You can also play it in VR flawlessly on PC & controller with the LukeRoss mod so… another reason to jump back in with extra immersion.

jznrpg367d ago

It’s not a bad game it’s just not as good as the others

Shadow Man366d ago

The controls felt very clunky to me, I tried playing it after beating Darksouls 3 and it didn’t feel fluid, obviously the hit detection is less superior for been an older game.

Man, I dunno about that. In fact, most boss fights in Dark Souls 2 were forgettable.

Dark souls 2 is really underrated.
