Mike from Velocity Gamer writes: "Okay, tomorrow is April Fool’s Day. We all know this. So take the following with an enormous grain of salt. If you go on the official Eidos Montreal Tumblr, you can see a preview image for Deus Ex: Human Defiance; yes, the same one we’ve mirrored above. The post is tagged with ‘sequel’, ‘announcement’, and ‘teaser’, along with the Deus Ex tags you’d expect, like ‘Adam Jensen’ and ‘JC Denton’. Whether or not the community team is hinting at those characters appearing in the game or just taking advantage of Tumblr’s tag system, I don’t know."

Jason Schreier claims Eidos-Montréal layoffs are tied to a canceled original game not mentioned in the studio’s official statement.

Eidos Montreal has imposed another round of layoffs, announcing today that 124 employees have been put out of work. Longtime studio head David Anfossi has also left, although it's unclear at this point whether he resigned or was also laid off.
I guess we’re never getting another deus ex game. Or any game directly made from this studio.

One of Eidos-Montréal's cancelled projects, a Lord of the Rings title with a Telltale-like story, gets its first look, revealing the setting.
Well since it comes from the official Facebook page, the fact that they've replied to people saying it's just the movie by saying it's actually a new game and the fact this was teased a while back when they trademarked the games name. I think it could be real instead of an April Fools joke
Hopefully they'll improve on Human Revolution...wonder if it will be a sequel to Invisible Wars or will still be a prequel. I guess Adam could still be in it if it was a sequel to Invisible Wars since with the augments he would age slower.
Funny they would show it off on April Fools though....I thought the only game that would be shown off on April Fools would be Half Life 3, people would be calling it fake for most of the day before they realise it's real.
i already bought this game today , I hope these rumours of a next gen sequel are real
love deus ex
At first I thought it was an April fools but it's the 10 year anniversary of Square Enix tomorrow.
It has been confirmed a couple of weeks ago that it was indeed a movie/mini-series about the deus ex world and the last game. I never heard anything about it though so I'm not sure it's completely true or not.
