I'm sorry...I love Uncharted but the difference is that Uncharted is built around these set pieces and Tomb Raider wasn't. How many times does Drake almost fall and hang on by his fingernail. Tomb Raider plays NOTHING like Uncharted...and to point out the fact she RAIDS a TOMB like Uncharted is hilarious. That was before Uncharted.

If people stopped going in thinking they're getting a larger than life character and game...they'd appreciate the more grounded Tomb Raider. I had as much fun with playing as the more human Lara as I did with the great Drake.

I beat tomb raider today and it was a fantastic game, but I'd still give the edge to uncharted. I'm not saying uncharted is miles better but it has tomb raider beat in certain aspects, but while playing both series I couldn't put the controller down since I was hooked on the gameplay. However I am disappointed in the amount of multiplayer trophies and lack of certain single player trophies, each uncharted title I beat I would go through all the trophies which added replay value to me.

it's kind of funny how similar these 2 are in design because the old TB games were so different. The cinematics, the cover system, the stealth, the focus in character development an story telling, etc. The new TB game is more like an Uncharted spin-off than an actual TB reboot.

Lara did not only learn from Uncharted, she learned from other games too, like Arkham City, Prince of Persia etc. :)

I haven't played TR but watching 30 seconds of that vid really gets the message across: UC gave inspiration to TR when it comes to different tension-filled sequences.

I am still planning to buy TR as I've been a TR fan. Still, there's no denying the inspiration from UC.

Both games are great, no need to argue over which is better. Play and enjoy them both!!

She unlearned how to swim, unlearned how to do complex puzzles, unlearned her innate talent of being an explorer. She did learn how to kill defenseless animals, to kill even more people in a single game.

It's the amount of importance invested by NaughtyDog to the other characters of Uncharted that I believe is the main difference.

I'm sure a lot of gamers' who bought Uncharted also care about the other characters in the game as much as Nathan Drake.
We see and read about a lot of articles on the net about Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazier even mentor Victor Sullivan.
And not only that, the geography mainly the countries where they take their quests' also play a big part.

Maybe on the next Lara Croft/Tomb Raider game that is what the developers should think about, a character or a bunch of characters' with endearing qualities that would give the game an added breath of fresh air to the franchise.

This rebooted game is already an awe inspiring technically brilliant game and I think they have learnt well enough from Uncharted.
