When Brian Provinciano concocted his home-grown game Retro City Rampage and started putting it out on various platforms, he caught a glimpse into what it’s like to work with three gigantic gaming companies: Sony, Microsoft and Steam. In a conversation with IGN – facilitated by Sony in anticipation of a couple of talks he’s giving at GDC concerning PlayStation Vita development – he spoke about what it was like dealing with each corporation.

Gamesbeat caught up with Blackley to extract some wisdom about Microsoft’s journey in games, what he thinks Sharma should do, and where gaming can go next. Part of his message is hopeful, but Blackley sees a lot of peril on the road that Microsoft is following. And it makes him worry about the future of gaming.
"I expect that the new CEO, Asha Sharma, her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night."
LOL
Anyway, let's wait and see maybe Mia Khalifa will surprise us.
I’m on the fence about her. I’ll give her chance, but if she is there to finish things off. Well what can you do.
After seeing the article of the possible sunsetting of Xbox as said by Seamus Blackley I believe, I went onto X because of a post I saw. It was a gif of Vegeta powering up, the poster commented as Vegeta yelling “Don’t take my fiercest competitor away from me.” Standing there in his blue Sayian/Freiza corps outfit. So it got me to thinking, so let me ask a question to N4G.
If Vegeta is PlayStation, who would Xbox and Nintendo be in the Dragon Ball universe?
Who would be Master Roshi?
I have my own opinion of course, I just want to see what others think.

If you read Kotaku even semi-regularly, you already know that Xbox has been in a weird spot for some time now. And with today’s news that both Xbox boss Phil Spencer and President Sarah Bond are leaving and the new head of the brand will be a former Meta exec who previously lead Microsoft’s AI division, I think it’s time to call it. Xbox is dead. Time of death: February 20, 2026
Oh come on, Xbox has been dead for at least 10 years now. I think what’s more important right now is Playstation’s death that is very slowly but surely happening through mismanagement and greed.
This is why the views and comments are low, with lame articles that use divide-and-conquer pretensions.

Filing a false DMCA claim costs nothing, requires no proof, and can destroy an indie game's launch in minutes. Fighting back can cost tens of thousands of dollars and take weeks (if you can afford it at all).
Copyright is copyright. DMCA is a good thing that protects creators IP., revenue and usage. and you can absolutely appeal a wrongful DMCA takedown. It’s happened to me. Was easily resolved.
Until there's genuine consequences for this type of abuse, it'll keep happening across all media. DMCA is in principle a good thing, but it needs an overhaul.
Overall, in terms of Third Party, Second Party or First Party Developer Creative Freedom, Sony is the the best partner.
I never felt any affiliation with any company beside sony. They have alays brought me the best gaming experiences and I truly feel connected to them and wish for them to succeed. I want to work for them someday.
So basicly, Sony lets you release it when you want to, no matter who you are going up against that week, and Microsoft has slots that games are released in but you have no say so when it's released.
He said nothing about dev kits, with the exception of the Vita as he didn't know it was going to be that easy. Good job Sony on that part.
Steam was easy as pie.
I still have never heard of the game.
Xbox gamers are falling on hard times what with all of these pro-Sony articles...
Good thing I'm most likely going to get a PS4. Second Sun on launch, man :)
any interview with someone other than Randy Pitchford has my interest.
