They did not communicate the right information on when the game takes place. It does NOT take place during season 8 like everyone thought. It actually takes place right after the death of Apophsis. So it takes place during season 5, before they learn about Anubis. So everything actually does fit with the canon now. Just wanted to give you a heads up on that.

From what I found Arkalis Interactive did a poor job of marketing game coming up to launch. For the article you linked (I wrote it) it took me a good while for them to reply.

Apparently they knew they made some mistakes here and there and have said they would fix them, but I'll reserve judgement until I hear more about the next two episodes.
