I gathered as much......so im guessing a just cause 3 game by the beginning of next year

Gamesgbkiller4812d ago

I really hope.
If its not, I don't know what I am going to do else :(

GameSpawn4812d ago

Yeah...just imagine the size and scope of the game if they make as much a move as they did from Just Cause to Just Cause 2. Just Cause 3 would be freakin' enormous.

Hydrolex4812d ago

Every developer is saying good things about the PS4...

that's a good thing man ! can't wait to see PS4 and its games

starchild4812d ago

Yeah, Sony made very good choices in terms of the architecture of the PS4. This can only be a good thing for gamers and developers alike.

TopDudeMan4812d ago

Yeah, I want to love open world games again. Just cause 2 re-sparked my love for them when that came out, but since then it's dwindled a bit.

Derekvinyard134812d ago

It's says compared to ps3 dam it must have been hard

Omni-Tool4811d ago

It probably still uses a linux environment though it is not needed too often. PS3 used a default linux environment for development.

showtimefolks4812d ago

oh how the times have changed, ps3 is so hard to develop for i still remember those articles on daily bases on every site, I am glad sony has made development easier.

ps4 is just like a PC so i am hopeful now playstation fans won't get bad ports

andibandit4811d ago

You're right at least we wont have to listen to
"OMG theyz just has to learnz howz to Prokramz for PS3" defense bs.

NastyLeftHook04811d ago

yes, im sure we will see a new just cause

@ ritsuka666

I think you didn't play ps3 this gen that is why you have a bad taste in your mouth.

Number-Nine4812d ago

square enix will still take 10 years to make kingdom hearts 3 and vs13

abzdine4812d ago

this means more games for PS4 owners, and i'll be one of them!

firelogic4812d ago

As opposed to a lack of games on PS3?

gunnerforlife4812d ago

some Devs shyd away from making games for ps3 because yes it was hard to develop for, but also all multiplatform games will be at a very high quality for ps4 compared to how they were for ps3.
i think thats what Abzdine meant.

ICECREAM4812d ago

Ps4
will have games and fun for sure
it will be raging next gen
just like lion in his den
already shaking these micro things
brothers have stopped to sing
rejoice for the victory
holidays are the answer to the mystery

ziggurcat4812d ago

i'm glad to see devs are finding it super easy to develop for the PS4. it signals, to me, the end of crappy, inferior ports.

first1NFANTRY4812d ago

I agree. i can't tell you how many multiplats i skipped this gen compared to the ps2 gen. I hope we get first party quality multiplats for the ps4.

torchic4812d ago

Bethesda laughs in the face of your comment.

LOL x) Haha you beat me to it!! BUBS+

The PS4 is the second console EVER to have the same CPU architecture as PCs (The only other console was the Original Xbox). Now that a console has a the most common architecture (x86/x64) Developers can build a game once for PC and PS4 (and depending on if the next Xbox is also going x86) and then basically just tweak the settings and level of detail and use any hardware specific benefits (Like the PS4 having GDDR5 RAM and the xbox have 32mb of the EDRAM, etc)

This is great news for developers AND the consumer because there should be less bugs and faster "learning" of the hardware. You will see the console "maxed out" sooner as well, but in a good way. PS4 now has x86 and devs have already had practice for, I don't know, 20 years?

EDIT-

Lol, from wikipedia:

The Intel 8088 microprocessor was a variant of the Intel 8086 and was introduced on July 1, 1979...The Intel 8088 was the first CPU to have an instruction set that is now commonly referred to as x86.

"You will see the console "maxed out" sooner as well, but in a good way. PS4 now has x86 and devs have already had practice for, I don't know, 20 years? "

So...a little thanks for PC gamers perhaps? We're not as cool as console gamers but we did, willingly, suffered through all those problems to ensure the X86 is a viable gaming platform in those years.

Looks like PlayStation took a hit with Marathon and is now quietly adjusting prices worldwide to recover the losses

andy8520d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele19d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk19d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

Eonjay19d ago

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit19d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg19d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon10119d ago (Edited 19d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz14919d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

I dont think that'll ever happen. But i must say back in the day, they were definitely trying because they were more cash rich than their competitors.

CosmicTurtle32d ago

I think MS were and still are the richer company. They tried to acquire Sega back in the day (and considered doing so again more recently), they obviously bought exclusivity to Halo which was originally shown as a Mac title. I don’t think as a company MS can claim the moral high ground here. It’s a wilful lack of self awareness.

Of course Sony would try exactly the same if they had the resources, but when the PS2 dominated the industry was in a much healthier place with an abundance of great third parties.

This has been a depressing generation as far as first party decisions are concerned. The fact we are debating business plans rather than which game is better is a sad reflection of the state of things.

Darkseeker33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

There was Nintendo as well, Sony wouldn't have had a monopoly. In fact, the world would be better today if Xbox never existed in the first place. They pretty much brought all bad practices we have today. We might have gotten all of it either way, but not this early. In term of franchises, I don't think there is anything Microsoft released that would actually be missed if it didn't exist. Even Halo the world wouldn't notice if Halo didn't exist.

S2Killinit32d ago

MS was definitely a bad influence on gaming.

raWfodog33d ago

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe that the best way to drive consumers to your software and hardware is to invest smart in your first-party studios. Give them full support and guidance in making unique, fun games that are only available to play in your ecosystem and the gamers will come.

Reaper22_33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

But first party studios aren't enough. They only make up a small portion of the industry. Without 3rd party there would be no industry for Microsoft or sony.Developing games take time and money and sometimes you gotta make moves to stay competitive.

raWfodog33d ago

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

SimpleDad33d ago

They Shure did a great job... 25 years later Xbox is dead.

Reaper22_33d ago

Then why be so emotional and continue to talk about it. Xbox will never die be ause it stays in so many people's head.

lodossrage33d ago

How can you even see him being "emotional" in that comment?

If anything, you're the emotional one, constantly trying to go at anyone that says anything against Microsoft. So when you call him emotional, it comes off as deflection

Elda32d ago

I own an XBSX & I can say it's becoming irrelevant out of the 3 current consoles.
