The future of the TimeSplitters series remains uncertain, but a few dedicated fans are putting their skills to use after obtaining permission from Crytek for a fan made game. We put your questions to Project Manager Michael Hubicka in an exclusive interview.
A group of fans have recreated the TimeSplitters series with the blessing of the IP holders; TimeSplitters Rewind is now available to download.
Cinder Interactive has announced that its upcoming fan remake of TimeSplitters, TimeSplitters Rewind, will be released on November 23rd.
Yeah, no it won't... They clearly don't have permission from Plaion, THQ Nordic, or Embracer to legally use the lgog they stole, the IP name, or any ofhte in-game assets, maps, and designs they also stole/ripped off. As soon as the legal department see's they're planning on 'releasing' this game created around stolen assets, they'll be shut down instantly.
Why do people still continue to rip-off established IP they have no rights to? Create a new experience influenced by the IP, with original designs and a new non-copywritten name, and release that - at least it may actually see the light of day in that instance.
No shot! I seriously thought this was dead. Hadn't heard anything about it in ages, lol. Super excited if this is actually happening!
The fan remake of the original TimeSplitters trilogy, TimeSplitters Rewind has received a development update, showing off some new progress.
Hope this takes off so we can get it back on consoles.
My only fear with it running off CryEngine3 is that my little ole laptop won't be able to handle it. Anything above Bioshock 1 is too much to handle (I'm assuming the Engine is both power and graphics, just going off my own, misinformed database here). Awesome this is being done, more developed than I have thought it would be
This series deserves better than it has been. Can't get more fun than TS
Wouldn't expect too much from this. The guy running this, Michael, isn't very nice to work with. Organisation of the team is terrible, and he doesn't appear to have any previous experience in Game Development.
