With the mixed response to Resident Evil 6 and uncertainty of the franchises future, is a reboot the best option to revive the undead series?

Capcom has announced and released the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 on Steam.

But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂
Yes, make it scary like it should be. For gosh sake the last two were nothing like RE should be, granted I did like 5, but 6 sucked rotten eggs.
Reboot? RE6 was their chance at a reboot and they ruined it. I think they should do remakes, give RE2 and RE3 the treatment that they gave RE1 on the Gamecube.
A reboot probably won't work either. As long as the same people who steered the game in the wrong direction are making the decisions the game will always suck.
Anyone that thought it needed to be turned into a brain dead shoot em up shouldn't be left near the series again.
A reboot wouldn't even help. without Shinji, RE is nothing. Plus capcom said they wanted to attract the COD crowd. so it's really no hope. No Shinji Mimaki, and Capcom's habit of not listening to their fans. Plus they're obsessed with ''DLC''. They are really not to be trusted.
They said 6 was supposed to be the reboot.
