Microsoft's CEO, Steve Balmer has confirmed that Microsoft will support Sony's Blu-ray high-definition disc format.
Speaking in Las Vegas yesterday, Ballmer stated:
"We've already been working on, for example, in Windows, device driver support for Blu-ray drives and the like, and I think the world moves on. Toshiba has moved on. We've moved on, and we'll support Blu-ray in ways that make sense."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Of course they are, they have no choice in the matter, Blu-Ray is the format of the future. Support it or get left behind.
Precisely... cool, look forward 2 the day when i have a blueray drive chilling in my pc (one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, like when cdrom's/writers came out all those years ago)
Any one that felt that Micro won't support Blueray must be daft. After Betamax failure Sony supported VHS.It's business and in the near future when blueray drive becomes much cheaper ,then expect a cheap add-on for the 360.
Toshiba is supporting blueray and so will everyone.
I look forward to having a blueray drive in my next laptop and an add-on for the 360.As long as they are reasonably priced
I hope Sony got their moneys worth.
Windows and Blu-ray??? i.e there going to mess-up Blu-ray!!! :-/
Not sure how, but they will!!! ;-D
