Yeah right. So movies are coming out on BluRay and HD-DVD. Digital distribution is the future. You'll be able to access any movie at any time with digital distribution, same with video games. I don't know the name, but some Sony exec. also said digital distribution is where it's at in like 5 years (probably closer to 6-7). I don't see BluRay as any advantage in the long run. Most games fit on a DVD anyway.

The danmed thing (ps3) hasnt even launched yet and gamepro is already crowning then the "supreme champion" What if when the ps3 launches its full of problems like over heating or bugs in the dash board. oh wait it doesnt even have a dashboard and its already over-heating. It doesn't even matter if multiplatform magazines state PS3 superiority; we get the same haters saying the exact same comments crying about "Biased Views".

He's got old information with regards to the 360 being able to output 1080p. And it is known now that a digital connection is possible with the 360, just not implemented as of today.

But what's interesting to me is that, in the world of game consoles, watching movies was ranking so high in the decision-making process. This negatively affected both the Wii and the 360. And why? Everyone I know prefers a standalone player, to save wear and tear on their gaming console. Movie watching is a nice feature, but it's not a gaming feature. Arguing space constraints is one thing, giving preference because I get to watch "Click" quite another.

Also MS's adding to it's media functions in the near future. I say the media updated he did not mention deserved a point also. I'v done some reading and the 360 by no means is done offering choice and inovation. MS is bringing movie channels to live i mean come on!.

We no the points you're trying to make everybody know those theories on paper. hehe

Theres no real point to this article. First of all, only one of these consoles it out, so comparisons are still very premature. Real comparisons can only be made after they've all been released and have had time to show what they can do, which will take some time.

Secondly, at least 5 of their 9 categories (Controller, Online, Additional Features, Game Library, and Value) are subjective. Controller preference depends on who you are, maybe you like the old tried and true controller (360), maybe you like the old style mixed with some new technology but the emphasis is still on regular style games (ps3), or maybe you're tired of all the old stuff and want something completely fresh (wii). All of these are reasonable positions, it just depends who you are and what you want. As far as online, 360 probably wins unless you want to just play against other people online with no subscription fee and don't care about player ranking or other stuff (which fits me more, just a personal thing). Of course you could care more about the virtual console than any other online feature. Additional features and value both depend on what you want your console to do. Many people have expressed they don't feel a need for hd movies, so their opinion on this would certainly differ from mine, and I also realize not everyone plans on a 1080p tv as soon as I will, another reason to have a different preference. Finally, games are the most subjective category. You can't just say that one console has the best games for everybody.

I also would like to add that size and weight is an extremely stupid category because who really cares as long as it plays games that you like.

Speculation on the graphics of ps3 vs. 360 games is also stupid because 1) ps3's specs aren't even released yet, and 2) even when they are released it still doesn't mean a direct comparison is going to happend. The gpu's, and cpu's for that matter, for both systems can be utilized to their full potential in completely different ways, and I predict that it will take 4 or 5 years from now until we can say which one is "more powerful," and there is always the possibility that we'll never see any real differences in capabilities. And to defend the wii, it's focus isn't on graphics or processing power so give it a break on this point.

All in all, I put very little stock in this article. Let's not argue about something so pointless.

Only if I had a time machine! I would fast foward time to summer 2007 (since not everyone will be able to buy the PS3 this holydays). I no longer expect the PS3 to be as good as the 360. I expect it to be 1,000,000 times better. That whenever I play it I have to use diapers because I will be pissing and sh**ing all over my pants of exitement. With all the hype and the confident of Sony and their fanboys; good is not enough. I also spect to use it to communicate with aliens with it.

An admittedly conclusive roundup of the next-gen fight, but it all seems a little from an established 360 fan's perspective. Notmeaning to sound like a fanboy, but the wii gets a seriously tough rap.

I just don't get why everyone is soooo obsessed with comparisons and arguments - especially since we simply don't know how good the PS3/Wii is going to be for another month at least.

Wow.....that was the most sensible post I have read all day, damm you stole my thunder, now I don't have anything to say....arrr, well maybe I can add a few comments to what you said: yeah its OK to make assumptions but most of the things they "Declared" a winner in were #1 very subjective and #2 we haven't touched a thing from Sony and Nintendo, which casts alot of doubt about who the winner will be, and even when we do it will be along time before we can "look back" and say OK...the "indicators" favor the________. Everything is great on paper and Sony is always great at making certain video clips and certain parts of games they show 'wonderful' but lets wait until those said games launch and have been played and critiqued from beginning to end.

Asthetics? I am sorry but just from screen shots (i have not see one in person) the PS3 looks huge compared to the 360 and is definately the most horrible design I have seen from sony yet. How does it get an on-par rating with the 360 when the 360 is smaller and to me looks better (not biased at all, just my thoughts).

Again, pull down the review and re-do it in 6 months.

Yes the comparison had its good and bad points and errors but overall i really do think all the 3 major consoles deserve the top spot (market leader) if not the one it should be is Nintendo, then Microsoft followed closely by Sony.

Biased article i`ve ever read period! First off, the console isn`t even out yet. Also, how are they giving the ps3 the edge in the graphics department when it`s very, very obvious that the 360 has the edge in the graphics chip department? The reason why that was done was so that the 360 would lose. And I know that you`re gonna say that, (The 360 doesn`t have HDMI) and in all reality that doesn`t mean squat really! Component cable can support 1080p, the rule that you need HDMI to output 1080p is a myth and a marketing scam period! If that`s the case, then the ps3 would be shipping with one in the box! All the HDMI does is give a slightly sharper image quality that`s not even that noticeable to the naked eye! It`s the equivalent to av cables and S-video. Which I could hardly tell the difference. And last but not least, the`re trying to right off the 1080p update that`s coming next month. That in itself is bias! Gamepro is just like IGN.com and Gamespot in being bias in favor of the ps3!

Has anyone ever researched how weak the compression for blu-ray is...it already being replaced. Screw Blu-Ray it is already obselete and really isn`t the future. This however will be.

I would call myself a fan of all systems/games. I own a 360 and like it slightly more than the PS3. But if any person, (gamer or non) asked me which one I would recommend to him, I would tell him to choose the PS3. Because if a person doesn't care about price, the PS3 is really the best choice. It slightly outdose the 360 in some areas.

I feel better giving him the answer he (and most people) expects (PS3) than to explain why I love my 360 so much...Price, Exclusives, Xbox Live, and a Great controller, ect.

I am lucky enough to have a PS3 on pre-order. Can't wait.

I value the opinions of those who know something about games and consoles. However, when it comes to the PS3, they are pretty much saying what Sony has been saying all along: you're paying for potential. Potential is great and all, but I'm willing to wait to see if it meets that potential and becomes worth the price.

Although I own everything Sony has ever made, it's asenine to think that they [Sony] have won anything yet except for the last long, grueling console war - beginning with the PS1. The next-gen era is barely upon us and as much as I'd like to back the GamePro article - it's still way, way too early to call any kind of winner. 360 got the strongest GPU and does 1080p, heck the video output port is even digital. A HDMI cable will be released soon.

I think the WiiStation360 will win the console wars. Its a new system, that has not release yet.
