4Player-"It's about time to break away from stereotypes especially when it comes to race in video games. This is why Wei Shen is a step in the right direction. There are still stereotypes and tropes existent in Sleeping Dogs and I won't deny that, but Wei is a character we haven't had before and I'd like to see more games try to break the molds we've been dealing with for far too long. I still haven't beaten the game but with every hour added to my save file I'm really enjoying the ride, and I hope this emerging trend of righting racialized wrongs continues."

United Front Games developed a really unique experience with Sleeping Dogs, and it still holds up. Unfortunately, any hope at a sequel hinges on it getting more popular almost a decade later.

Shang-Chi star Simu Liu is working to revive the Sleeping Dogs movie and hopes its success could lead to a long-awaited Sleeping Dogs sequel.
Please do. One of my favorite games from that gen. A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!
Square has their own GTA and they haven't bothered making a sequel. Yet they're wasting money on nfts and live service crap.

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."
You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is
That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
I never stopped to think why I liked this game so much. Now that I read this opinion piece, I realized it was actually quite a refreshing game even though it may seem a bit stereotypical at first glance.
Not to sound racist, but I am tired of using the same generic, pasty white guy with a 'light beard' going on. I am sure most people feel the same. That is just my way of thinking. If every character was black or Asian, I'm sure I'd feel the same. Sleeping Dogs did a good job with changing it up a bit.
I really loved him...and Jackie..and Winston... even Peggy who I only had 2 conversations with. This game was so intense in every way. The best sandbox game in years. Glad I picked it up. I almost ignored it because I was tired of the hong kong thing from all the jackie chan movies :P
Not to mention how everything had its own gameplay. When driving the mouse is useless and you only use the keyboard like a racing game. Extra bits here and there helped a lot.
The setting in which this game takes place and the fighting was refreshing and had me hooked.Sleeping Dogs is a great game and was one of my favorites from last year.
I love Sleeping Dogs, it is easily one of my favorite games. The world and the character just seem right. It has that right touch of humor with seeming condescending. It's hard to explain but I really love this game.
