IGN - Playing DmC: Vergil's Downfall

IGN - Vergil is a complete and utter badass. You know it, I know it, and everyone who played Devil May Cry 3 knows it, too. But in DmC: Devil May Cry, he spent more time being a smug little jerk than he did being the katana-wielding demon spawn we all know and love.

Virgil in DmC is a moron. I hated what he did later in the game, it was uncalled for and spontaneous. Spontaneity in games is good, don't get me wrong, here. It was just off-putting... maybe it's because I am sensitive. :(

A joke? Compared to what? Devil May Cry 3. You mean the one dimensional personality character who has very little do with the actual plot, other than being "used" by a human. Not to mention his play through is nothing more than a character swap which sounds fun, but battles like Cerebus are more fun with Dante's trickster style rather than a bland replacement character. Not to mention his voice actor was more nasally than Dexter from The Offspring. I'm tired of the people hating on the new characters just because they're not that annoying over-the-top anime style like the first 4 (i did enjoy the originals but surfing on rockets and the "fill your dark soul with light speeches took away from the seriousness, and 4 was full of plot holes) Dmc's story and characters have depth, are well made graphically and the voice acting was the best yet. Now the gameplay was easy (specially boss battles) and the enemies got recycled a little early, but DMC is a good game, not original by any means, but fun and rewarding. Before you criticize the new, reflect why they decided to reboot... There are a lot of good reasons why!

You sound like you’re just a ton of fun to be around.

It’s been sitting in my backlog for a while now. One of the first games I wanted to try for this current gen due to the long load times of previous gen. I’ll get around to it soon!

One of the best, stylish, and fun action slasher on the system. You definitely should get to it, as soon as you can.

solideagle315d ago

they are taking way too much time with DMC6...

VersusDMC315d ago

The DMC5 team went on to make Dragons Dogma 2, the DMC director (3,4,5) left capcom to make an action game at another studio and the rumor is that a DMC remake is next...so i wouldn't hold my breath on DMC6.
