I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman3d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.

Glen Schofield Writes Thank You and Goodbye message to EA and Activision

Glen writes: "For me, it’s a bittersweet moment. I spent roughly a decade at each company, right in their primes. Watching them fade from their roles as dominant publishers and powerhouse training grounds hits harder than I expected."

Such a shame we never got the DS2 remake for PS5 as we did for the 1st one. Loved the franchise especially the 2nd one.

victorMaje125d ago

One of the reasons I bought remake of 1 was to increase the chances of a remake of 2…smh

Aloymetal124d ago

Same here, I really wanted that DS2 remake even more after I saw how amazing was the DS1 remake. They did an amazing job, game looks phenomenal.

Dead Space Creator Glen Schofield 'Already Making Calls' About Dead Space 4 Now EA Has New Owners

Could Dead Space return now EA has new owners? That's what Glen Schofield, the creator of the series, is hoping to make a reality.

P_Bomb185d ago

EA already makes so much money on sports and live service. Why not take a fraction of that cash, make a good single player Dead Space? Just do it.

chicken_in_the_corn185d ago

The backlash to a Dead Space 4 will be incredible.

LostPotato185d ago

Why the third game didn't sell that good and ruined the Ip. Let it rest in peace.

Red3f1ned185d ago

Because there's still potential and he's not done telling the story? Just because you get socked in the face really hard doesn't mean you lay down and just take it, especially if you haven't finished what you set out to do.

Michiel1989185d ago

yeah you're only throwing millions in the bin, no biggie.

-Foxtrot185d ago

The point is they really ruined the story where most people just don’t care

Now if they remake DS2 and then redo DS3 as a completely new game, branching the game off into a new timeline then we are golden

Pedantic91185d ago

If Callisto is his idea of a Dead Space game without the supervision of EA, i don't think i'd want to see where he'd take DS4 now that EA aren't the ones in charge. No wonder he's "already" making calls.

spoonard185d ago

Oh, another sportswashed game I will never buy because I don't support the Saudi royalty.

Seraphim184d ago

do you purchase gas? you're supporting Saudi Royalty.

Huey_My_D_Long184d ago

No shit. We can't go without buying gas. People can go without games. There is no ethical consumption in capitalism anyway.
But people can make stands if they like.
No idea why it bothers you, dude isn't even asking others to join in on his boycott

Seraphim183d ago

@Huey - you make many assumptions. I was simply pointing out a fact.
