Hitman: Absolution review - ArabicGamers

After a hiatus of six years (one can only hope that Agent 47 has been picking his contracts carefully), Agent 47 the eponymous follically challenged protagonist of the series has finally stepped out of the shadows. It has been a long time coming, the only thing we have heard from the franchise since Blood Money is the frankly crap 2007 Hitman movie, but has Danish developers IO Interactive’s 5th installment and semi reboot of the series paid off?

Great review, I can't agree enough with the fallibility argument. Agent 47 is a hard ass, not some little punk that gets his ass kicked. This really did upset me, and I'm glad it did someone else too. I remember playing the very first two Hitman games on PC, after that it lost it's way. Even though Blood Money was well received, it wasn't a patch on the original games.

I disagree, I think their console game is very very good

What the hell is up with this review? Everyone, including IGN gave Hitman a higher score than 7, and they had great reasons to, this guy on the other hand complements Hitman, but then insults it, and the score does not make any sense

Did you play the original Hitman games on the PC? If you did, then you'll know what this reviewer is talking about.

You mean Code Name 47? The one before Silent Assassin? If so, no, however, I did play all of the other titles besides number 1, and the Silent Assassin was the worst, Contracts was a little better, and Blood Money was a great deal better. However, that still does not explain the review score. Also, just because I see disagrees on my comments doesn't mean I'm going to care, so there is no point in disagreeing, or agreeing. Also, how can this guy say the previous titles were better when the AI was "HARD-CODED". If you don't know what that term means, it means that there is a bunch of if and else statement placed into the game, and that's very obvious from the way Silent Assassin and Contracts play out.

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
