Dante has returned and he’s just as badass as he was before.

Considering DmC is flopping so hard at retail, it's kinda weird seeing all these reviewers giving it a great score "Don't ya think?".

Come now, it's far shy from Capcom's desired 4 million sales, DmC is essentially a devil may cry game and is selling worse than the 2nd and 4th instalments.

As a new IP it's doing well, otherwise its a flop, IMO of course.

Oh dear sir 1 million shipped is not 1 million sold. They're forcast is 1.2 million sales, that is just their expectations for the game.

Capcom shipped 1 million copies to retailers in a little over half of January alone, and they expect to ship an additional 0.2 million copies in the next 2 months (a 40% drop in their previous, already revised sales forecast). That right there should tell you just how many copies are sitting in store shelves.

True, but Vanquish was a new IP.

DmC hasn't got that excuse, especially considering it's the reboot of DMC the franchise that defined a genre, taking into consideration the ridiculously high scores it's been given you'd think it would have done better.

What's up with the poor sales if it's really as good as reviews make out?

DmC:devil may cry is different from Devil may cry

DmC has a different developer, different story. Its kind of its own thing separate from the regular DMC universe (hence why capcom streesed it was an alternate universe) taking all that in consideration Id say for the most part the game deserves the scores its received. Its a good game but it's not perfect.

In regards to sales... I mean dude... If we are judging how good a game is based on sales, then DMC4 is absolutely the best in the franchise... Which I'm pretty sure most people would agree it's not lol.

I agree that DmC is different from Devil May Cry in a lot of ways, but they are in the same genre and they aren't vastly different enough in game play mechanics and story that they can't be judged as to whether or not one is better than the other.

That whole alternate universe thing struck me as damage control tbh, after all, the fan response came back pretty negative during that time. I still can't agree with the game getting anywhere near a (9) there is just too much holding it back, but that's just my opinion on the matter.

I understand that, and yeah I agree sales aren't everything. I guess what I was trying to say is, If this was Capcoms attempt at opening DMC up and making it more accessible to the masses, well they failed pretty bad as far as the sales show, in retrospect they probably should have listened a little more closely to the fans that were buying DMC to begin with, and made reboot that appealed to the core fans as well as a broader audience.

Its a great game and as a devil may cry fan im proud to have it. Losers everywhere just cant except the fact that dante looks different. That makes it a bad game gameplay wise? Grow up. DMC FTW

The game is mediocre gameplay wise which is unacceptable for DMC given 3 and 4's gameplay. 9.5 this game is definitely NOT! It's more like a 6 or a 5. Grow up and stop trying to pick a fight by talking about the aesthetic as if it's the only thing wrong with this game.

The game had good pacing, better story/world than 4,a simpler combat system yet fluid(also not as fast paced), etc
My only gripe with the game was the speed of the combat, but that was a far cry from ruining the game. Who knows maybe if Team Ninja makes a sequel they'll tweak some things.
If I was the creator of the Devil May Cry series, I would be embarrassed at how childish/bitchy some fans have behaved, taking into account the situation of the games creation.

The fact is that it is getting good reviews almost unanimously, to the chagrin of all the haters. I rather believe all the reviews than a few vocal babies who cant play with Dante becasue his hair is black.
