Why I Always Keep Coming Back to Chrono Trigger

Kotaku: "The game that I have beaten the most times isn't an action game, adventure game, interactive movie, or any other genre with a traditionally short playtime. Rather it's a little old RPG for the Super Nintendo called Chrono Trigger."

Still never played this.
Don't know why they won't release it on the EU store.

I would still trying to get hold of it one way or another, even if you have to download like an ISO if you have the disc. Why? Because the story is so memorable in every way possible that it will leave you with a smile and over 4 actually different endings to experience.

I can't remember the exact details but it's something to do with the EU PSN team needing a PAL copy of the game, turning that into a PSN game and getting the original publisher permission. They have to go through a lot of procedures cause of licenses and stuff.

I would buy it the second its on the store though.

*EDIT* It seems it was never released on PS1 in PAL regions.

one of my most favorite JRPG of all time... I sometimes wish square-enix would get their head out of thy arse and make a god damn sequal. its ok to make shitty FF sequals (the recent ones not the old school, those were great) but when it comes to reviving a glorious franchise oh no. cant do that.. sigh.

Square Enix didn't make this, Square soft did. Soft is far better than Enix, enough to say they made amazing titles like Chrono Cross and even some of the Final Fantasy's. Makes you wonder why they ever teamed up with Enix, because half of the original developers are completely gone.

I kinda forgot square was independent back in the day. but still, they own the right to the series and they still decide to keep it dead and continue milking FF.

Murad4854d ago

Actually, I believe most of the old Square Soft employees don't exist. I honestly don't recognize half of the newer staff, and truth be told, I believe Square Enix are keeping them down, so you shouldnt blame them

God I love this game. Simply epic.

If a true Chrono Trigger sequel came out as an exclusive to one system (no i dont mean chrono cross) i would buy that system just to play it, same goes for earthbound!

A remake or even a modern port would do since it is one of the best games all time. Can’t believe it’s been 30 years since I first played it

Azurite193d ago

It's on Steam, don't think they'll have another port unless it's a remake.

Yasunori Mitsuda is a talented composer I love the music both from Chrono Trigger, Xenogears. I will always enjoy Nobuo Uematsu as well. I would love to have seen the Chrono Trigger concert live.
