Five Nintendo Games that Need a Reboot

Nintendo has given gamers many franchises to fall in love with over the years. Many of gaming’s classic and iconic titles, such as Super Mario Brothers and the Legend of Zelda, have been mostly due to the creative mind of Nintendo’s own Shigeru Miyamoto. Yet outside of the main popular games that Nintendo has been known for, a few names have been lost or forgotten in the tides of time. While a few have received some sort of re-envisioning or homage in other games, they were never truly given the lime light as much as any of the other popular first party titles from the Big N. These are games that need to be given another chance for success and brought back into the public consciousness with a fresh coat of paint. These are a few games Nintendo needs to give a proper reboot.

... which is still an amazing game even today. Gorgeous racer on the Cube, especially when played in FullHD in Dolphin (although sadly often crashing).

Such a shame that the WiiU doesn't have backwards compatiility for Cube games.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who did not forget and is longing for another F-Zero.

How about 5 new IP's instead.

Good list, could add some more like a new ice climbers game.

Good list right here. I especially want to see a new Star Fox sooner rather then later.

i wanna see A New Wave Race game

I agree with Earthbond, Star Fox & Wave Race. I would also add Star Tropics too.

Immediately thought of the El Dorado zombie dudes in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

Not necessarily a ‘horror’ moment, but I remember feeling really tense and anxious when the Flood were first introduced in the original Halo. I never felt more on edge or nervous in that whole game as that moment. I think it was the whole buildup that something terrible was coming but you didn’t know exactly what.

Another non-horror game that had me feeling it was Subnautica. The deep dark depths, and knowing that sea monsters were lurking nearby, had me jumping at every sound.

That scene where you first see them attack is pretty crazy!

I remember being scared of the Asylum level in the most recent Thief game from 2014.

Earthbound Creator Says Nintendo Considered Mother 3 Translation, But It Was Complicated

IGN writes: Mother 3 is one of the most hotly-desired RPGs ever, having never received an official translation in North America despite the cult popularity of its predecessor, Earthbound. But over all these years, series creator Shigesato Itoi has never weighed in on the discussion - at least until now."

Zenzuu900d ago

They should remake Earthbound, and bring it to modern platforms.

meganick900d ago

A translated version of this game on Switch Online would be nice, and it would add a lot value to the Expansion Pak service.

jznrpg900d ago

Bring it already. Nintendo is frustrating at times

jjb1981900d ago

I would love to see an Earthbound game just redone with 3D-ish models and characters. Just having a remaster for Switch Online would be awesome!

FinalFantasyFanatic900d ago

Did you ever see the Earthbound 64 concept/materials? That actually looked really good, but I'd also take a HD-2D remake as well.

FinalFantasyFanatic900d ago

Nintendo seems very whimsical about what they give they're fans, sometimes they'll give them a bone (e.g. Mario RPG, Thousand Year Door for the Switch), and other times, they just give them little to nothing (agh, the Zelda anniversary).

When you consider the cost of gaming back then and even now, no excuses when costs are involved.
