WC - If there’s one thing Dishonored has done, it’s made me lose hope in the gaming industry.
Close to every time a bad game has been released, it has been given good reviews by the major review companies purely because it comes from a major developer/publisher. Dishonored received so many awards and positive reviews that I’ve begun to question whether these companies actually play the game or whether they’re given incentives for good reviews.

Half-Life 2 art director and Dishonored designer Viktor Antonov has died aged just 52.
One of my biggest art heroes. His work and vision were truly one of a kind, and he’s been a huge inspiration to my own work. Such a heartbreaking loss.
Remember seeing Dishonored for the first time when it released, fell in love with the art style straight away, so striking! And because of it, still holds up and will for years to come, RIP Viktor
So sad to hear this. I absolutely love the Dishonored series and love the world and art style. It looks great and unique. I'm still hoping for a Dishonored 3

WolfEye Studios president and co-founder of Arkane Studios Raphaël Colantonio has said Dishonored and Prey fans “will be happy” with his new studio's next game.
Ouch, already placing a sales cap on this is potentially bad as these games never seem to sell all too well. Hopefully the budget is in check so no one gets laid off after launch.
Fuck yeah. Even if it’s just a spiritual successor I want more titles like Dishonored in terms of art style, design and gameplay

"As a developer - and as a player - it's always sad and it always sucks to see studios close and devs lose their jobs. I really hope all those people land on their feet, because I know our indusutry is better with them in it," Patel tells the outlet. "As for me and how I look at things, I guess first and foremost: I don't believe in living in fear," the Avowed director.
Then gets shut down the next day. They should know better than to talk crazy like that.
What is wrong with Whatculture.com?! Second article the same night where I find two articles of them saying that they feel like cancelling their pre-order The Last of Us. What the heck!
This article never explains its title
WHY was Dishonored over-rated by so many critics and game players?
IDishonored has a Metascore of 7.6 based on 444 submissions by players and a score of 88 based on 56 reviews by critics.
The article seems to suggest that because certain parts of the game were reminiscent of other games, it was over-rated by everyone except the author of this rather weak commentary.
Dishonored is a decent game that´s about it.
It came out at a time when gamers were desperate for "new and original" IP's. Dishonored was new for sure, but not really all that original. Yet gamers bought it just on the mere fact it was new.
I never understood the whining about the lack of new IP's. New IP's come out ALL THE TIME! And 2012 had:
Binary Domain
Dragon's Dogma
Asura's Wrath
NeverDead
Lollipop Chainsaw
Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning
The Last Story
- Complains about game starting underground or in sewers, when in fact game starts on a boat.
- Complains about gameplay being same old, but has to reference games from different genres to show how Dishonored borrows idea and does nothing new. Even more amusing is that the mentioned games didn't even come up with the original idea that the author credits them with. Also overlooks abilities like Blink, or the fluid platforming.
- Complains about story being confusing, when it was pretty straightforward.
- Complaint about Fable3 similarity, Jensen monologues and Ezio life-lessons makes no sense when the game plays nothing like Fable, the main character doesn't speak, and there's no philosophical mumbo jumbo.
I can usually respect other people's opinions... this article however was just offensive to the human intelligence.
