GameZone's Matt Liebl writes, "Simply put, DmC Devil May Cry was a blast. I had a ton of fun playing it and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
It's unfortunate that there are some that, no matter how good the game actually is, will refuse to give DmC Devil May Cry a chance. Which brings me to my main question: would Capcom have been better off releasing it under a new title?"

Devil May Cry 5 surpasses 10 million sales as Netflix animated series drives major surge in franchise popularity.

It's been six years since Capcom dropped Devil May Cry 5, but it's still more than worth replaying in 2025 thanks to its rich gameplay.
Because the anime is on Netflix and we gotta ride that DMC in the news again wave.
It’s been sitting in my backlog for a while now. One of the first games I wanted to try for this current gen due to the long load times of previous gen. I’ll get around to it soon!
Everytime its on sale I think about buying it but never do. I only played the orginal and somr of 3 so I guess that's part of it.

Steam's Summer Sale looks primed for Steam Deck players - with a huge collection of titles on offer for the handheld.
Doubtful. Enslaved pretty much proved that NT doesn't have brand power to sell new, multiplatform IPs.
On the other hand, if they or Capcom had handled DmC's announcement, the reaction to it, better, the game wouldn't be suffering the backlash it is now.
Not that we've yet to know what that backlash means, given that the game's just released and sales are unknown. Of course if sells poorly the part of the gaming community are going to blame the "haters" for not only not buying it but spreading their negativity, which isn't going to really help anything. Just afford for more negativity to spread because the "lovers" refused to even try to understand the counter-argument.
Yup...because this game is hardly nothing like a DMC game, everything has either been dumbed down, become accessible or just laughable.
It's like DDDMC - Dumbed Down Devil May Cry
It would of done better as a new IP so no one would of related it to past games which were way better then the new one. Without past instalments there's nothing to compare it to.
Are we STILL harping on about this? *shakes head*
I think it's time we all moved on now.
