Everytime its on sale I think about buying it but never do. I only played the orginal and somr of 3 so I guess that's part of it.

Yeah, I am sure the difference is actually fairly significant (just as with most PC/console comparisons), but you aren't going to see it in a compressed interent video. On your HDTV or monitor the difference will be quite apparent.
Its much smoother on PC, and this is the kind of game where it matters. It also looks alot better, but that's secondary.
