
Devil May Cry, the hack-and-slash beat-em-’up series from Capcom that started in 2001, has gone through a number of changes ahead of its reboot DmC: Devil May Cry, which launches onto the masses tomorrow.
There are five games in the series, including Ninja Theory’s reboot, although that game is set in a “parallel universe” not directly inline with the plot and story of the first four games.
That said, it’s still important to educate yourself on the Devil May Cry universe, so at the very least you’ll be able to go in with a basic understand of the characters, world and style of the series.

It's been six years since Capcom dropped Devil May Cry 5, but it's still more than worth replaying in 2025 thanks to its rich gameplay.
Because the anime is on Netflix and we gotta ride that DMC in the news again wave.
It’s been sitting in my backlog for a while now. One of the first games I wanted to try for this current gen due to the long load times of previous gen. I’ll get around to it soon!
Everytime its on sale I think about buying it but never do. I only played the orginal and somr of 3 so I guess that's part of it.
