Arctic Combat Review (www.ComboCaster.com)

Webzen has released yet another shooter, Combat Arctic. Yes, the FPS genre is more than crowded but there is still some space if we think only free games. Arctic Combat is a shooter game set in a future where the U.S. and Russia are fighting against each other for resources , which ultimately original world war three. Nothing special in terms of background but not essential since we are talking about a 100% online competitive game.
As the game is marked by conflict U.S. vs Russia, there are two "looks" different to the character when entering a game, the player can buy characters for each faction. Unlike other games there is no direct advantage in acquiring this equipment except for cosmetics. They're just skins that change the look and give us a little extra experience, not having any speed or defense added, which is a very positive aspect.

MMO Culture: Apologies for the rather late news, as Webzen announced Arctic Combat’s closure late last month. This follows the closure of SUN Online, citing lack of players. While no official reason was given for Arctic Combat, it is most probably due to the same reason as well.

Is Arctic Combat a Bold BFG or a Potato Shooter?

The MMOFPS genre is certainly thinner than its RPG sibling, partly because FPS games are normally the multiplayer accompaniment of a single player campaign. There is certainly a lack of persistent world in these multiplayer modes, unlike Planetside 2 for instance, where there are huge areas up for contention in endless battles. Arctic Combat falls in-between the two, offering more than what the likes of COD or BF3 offers, but the lack of persistence as seen in Planetside 2.
