The gaming industry as a whole needs to be more open and less secretive. They should also be held more accountable to release dates and not allowed to show early teasers with no actual gameplay footage.

Amazing how people can be talked into throwing money at someone who shows absolutely nothing in regards to concept work, budgets, runway, business plan, technology, or even a single sketch of an idea.

Just talk of products that were released over a decade ago.

When you give money to kickstarter, you are not an investor, you sign no contract. You have no rights, no control, no stake, and no reward if the project actually bears fruit.

It's a risk and you should realize that.

People throw money at consoles too without knowing what games it will have after 5 years time. The agreement terms can also change over time when you update the system for example giving consumers little choice but to accept those terms.

Funny how there is more diversity and new ideas stemming from Kickstarter games than from big publishers.

uh oh...looks like the 2nd game flopped sales-wise. what a shame

MadLad980d ago

Psychonauts 2 has been the studios most profitable release, despite being on Gamepass, and a third title is already open and on the table when the time comes.
They wanted to do a big, new IP release coming into the acquisition being they would have funding they wouldn't have otherwise. That was obviously greenlit.

He was always gonna make a new ip once MS bought them.
The correct dicision imo, comebk to P3 at a later date.

Much preferred the first game tbh, so not a huge loss.
