"When a new Suda 51 title hits the market, a trip to the bizarre is a guarantee. Black Knight Sword is the result of a collaborative effort from the famed developers behind the likes Sine Mora and Lollipop Chainsaw, and proves to be one of the oddest creations we have seen in some time. For those unfamiliar, this game tells it’s twisted plot through a Kamishibai (Japanese Paper Theater), with a brave knight taking on an evil queen with a bit of that classic 16-bit feel attached. Does this off the wall, retro flavored romp prove to be worth the tickets, or do this knight’s strings need to be cut? Let’s find out."

Hardcore Gamer: Starting April 16, the game will be half-off on XBLA, and only cost 400 MS points, or $5, instead of 800.

Black Knight Sword is a sub-par, boring, and repulsive game that fails to be the throwback it was made out to be. Insane graphics, flying on giant chickens and being molested by melon-headed perverts aren’t substantial enough ideas to save what is otherwise a bare-boned action platforming experience.

munkimatt says:"It’s necessary to approach any game by Suda51 with an open mind. The Grasshopper Studio auteur has created some of the most downright bizarre games of the last few years with killer7, No More Heroes and, more recently, Lollipop Chainsaw being the most recognisable of his works. Black Knight Sword marks his studio’s second collaboration with Hungarian developers Digital Reality after 2012’s well received shoot ‘em up Sine Mora."
