GameZebo: I hate to write a review that compares one game to another, but when the game in question is Pudding Monsters – the first new IP from developer ZeptoLab since their mega-hit Cut the Rope – it’s hard to not look at it without asking the bigger questions that we’re all thinking. “Is it the next Cut the Rope?” “Were ZeptoLab just a one trick pony?” “Do I want a Pudding Monsters plush doll/t-shirt/board game/Slurpee cup?”
ZeptoLab certainly knows how to make and market a casual yet thought provoking game that goes crazy viral. Their first game, Cut the Rope, has gotten millions of downloads and received many different level packs (Cut the Rope: Experiments and Time Travel). Now they are branching out with a different game that already is doing very well called Pudding Monsters, which follows a group of sentient pudding blobs as they slide around sticking to one another to create a huge pudding monster in search of revenge for the oppression by their heartless fridge owner.
