Game Informer - Metroid is an excellent series that features my favorite female protagonist: Samus Aran. Before the Nintendo delivers the goods on the inevitable next Metroid, here are some guidelines on making the game the best it can be.

The "Metroid" series has been challenging players with exploring alien caverns and stealing their weapons since the first game blasted onto the NES in 1986. Since then, lead protagonist Samus Aran has managed to survive over a dozen encounters with the life-draining Metroids and the Space Pirates who seek to control them. The job hasn't always been easy — in fact, Samus has done some pretty terrible things over the years in the line of duty — but gamers have always been more than happy to help her save the galaxy.

The Metroid series has heavily influenced gaming as a whole, but it often goes overlooked in comparison to other Nintendo franchises.
I greatly admire the Metroid Prime Trilogy. However, I don’t think Metroid is a big enough seller to be considered part of the “Nintendo Trinity”. Mario, Pokémon and Zelda sell way more and are more consistently released than Metroid.

Samus' journey to becoming the ultimate warrior has been fraught with peril. Join us as we examine her story from the very beginning.
