Lol, that's not even bad. Most brand new Xbox360 and PS3 games are 69,95€ where I live. That's 91$ or 57£. We have a high tax rate so we can't really blame the publishers or retailers, but nevertheless that's the price we have to pay in the worst case scenario.

Rockstar Games told this game will be all about "the pursuit of the almighty dollar". So there is nothing surprising.

Well the price is between £39.99 and £44.99 in the UK if you look at sites like play etc.

In South Africa I payed 90$ equivalent for ME3 on launch-day.

Similar prices here in Sweden. It Usually ranges between 500-600 SEK ($75-90/57-70€).

Lol, the standard price for games in Germany and the rest of Europe is 69€ (90$). If you buy your games online or look around a bit it is around 55 to 60€ (72 to 78.5$). That's why I personally like to order a few of my games in the UK where the price is usually a lot closer to the US price.

So if anyone should be complaining it should be everyone from Europe who's been paying a lot for years now. It's not fair that Publishers simply swap the $ qith the € sign, and some are also doing this for DLC as well. Or the DLC is only slightly ovrpriced. So I don't mind, it's pretty much the standard price over here and nothing special.

You could have written that article about any game ever being released for this generation dear lazygamer, you just had to compare pretty much any price to the Dollar price :)

In the UK the price is somewhere between 40-45 pounds and it will get cheaper towards release so no complaints here :/

have mine already pre-ordered it cost me 59.99 plus tax Canadian dollars, same price as all my other new games i have bought this year, far cry 3, assassin's creed 3,wwe 13, halo 4, little big planet karting.

why people preorder a game so early when there is no reason to makes no sense. then they whine about a package announced months later with bonus items that they dont have cause they pre ordered 6 months in advance for no reason

Ok I can see that, exchange rates in an unstable economy can make prices fluctuate, what the dont tell you is how much games usually are in these places just that MSRP of this game in this specific area is 92 USD. There are some other factors that need to be considered to figure out if this is way out of line.

This is the problem with gaming journalism, sensationalist headlines and only a couple actual facts with nothing to put them into perspective. Do some homework and then write an article. This sounds like you saw how much it cost in some other country and said wow that's a lot I'm going to write a blog about it and that was it. Give me some more info to back up your story and mabey but It looks like a lot of people are saying in that area and some of EU that prices like this are pretty standard. I'm sorry thats how it works out with multiple countries tax systems involved and exchange rate differences but that sounds like thats just the way the cookie crumbles, not like they just gouging south africans.

Any game seems ridiculous to purchase if it is over USD70. I would either not purchase it, or just save up for it using an envelope system of putting away an amount each month until I have enough for purchase. The only way games will get that high or higher in the US is if people purchase them at release in droves. Since my affection is not set on GTAV, I do not have to worry about it....for now.
