TouchGen: The roller coaster is perhaps the most coveted invention that really does nothing for mankind, other than providing a sick level of excitement. Whenever someone talks about going to an amusement park they are referring to the rides, and the major draw are the roller coasters. In Sweden we have two major amusement parks that are defined by the size of their roller coasters. Sure there are a lot of smaller parks, but none of them matter for the hard-core excitement adrenaline crowd.
Roller Coaster Tycoon is a standard that all other theme park building games will be judged by. We have always hoped for that type of game on iOS, just made with touch controls, and Coaster Crazy is right along those lines. It comes from the makers of LostWinds, and it lets you create scare filled roller coasters by just dragging your finger across the screen. There’s a lot more to it than that though as you’re building and editing your coaster in 3D with the opportunity to add in loops, corkscrews, and all kinds of special sections.
The Frontier-developed game (currently only available for Apple products) takes players on a trip around the world on a voyage to make money from a number of rollercoasters. Each ride has to pass a certain number of objectives to be opened.
