Screens of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale’s DLC Show New Characters, Stage

Today, we got a chance to go hands-on with the upcoming DLC for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and we’ve come back with a handful of screenshots showing off what’s being added to the game.

In addition to two new characters—Kat from Gravity Rush, and Emmett Graves from Starhawk—the game is also getting an additional stage. As with the rest of PS All-Stars‘ stages, it’s a blending together of elements from different PlayStation franchises—this time, Heavenly Sword and WipEout.

Looks fantastic!

Love the perspective depth of Wipeout's track, really translates what the game is about

And Kat <3

I really hope they are not rivals. Anyway, I wonder if a character can get hurt by the vehicle in that Wipeout stage.

Those images look good and it looks like the DLC is coming along fine.

Seth Killian response to them being rivals

"Yes, happy to say both Kat and Emmett have full story modes complete with rivalry cinematics. Are they rivals? Hmmm…"

I'm assuming no for that response, but if they have a story than who are they rivaled with?? maybe we'll be teased with two more characters

Looks great. Can't wait to see what Kat can do.

And the best part of all this is it's free!

Them being rivals makes sense. One controls gravity, and the other uses objects that fall from the sky.

Simple really.

ForgottenProphecy4791d ago

they were confirmed as rivals. Sorry I don't have the source.

was hoping the new stage would actual be one from Gravity Rush along with Starhawk mix. Imagine a level where the players are falling to reach the bottom of the creators world (gravity rush thing). man that section of the game took forever lol.

Great stuff, even more reasons to get PlayStation All-Stars if you havent already. Dont miss out on this great game

League_of_Draven4792d ago

I'm seeing even less reasons to get it unless you've just started gaming with PS3.

Snookies124791d ago (Edited 4791d ago )

Your statement is flawed. This is in fact MORE of a reason to get it, that is a fact considering this will be free. You cannot say this is not more of a reason.

What does this game have to do with just starting out gaming on PS3 anyway? Are you implying that it's too easy or something, because you'd be wrong.

Seeing less reasons? That actually requires you to see what the game is like which I highly doubt you have. And by the way how about you own a PS3 before you make a statement like that.

SICK! Love this game. Support it buy picking it up people!

P_Bomb4792d ago

Ha, love it! Game is so under-rated. Never thought I'd see WipEout in a 2D fighter. Fun

playstation all stars would have been good if you could finish without ultimate moves. Made the game so boring and repetitive. The rest of the combat was really fun but that just killed it for me. Look at smash where you can get such creative kills and here you just wait for lvl 3 ult and press one button.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Launched 10 Years Too Early

Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing691152d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop1152d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

spoonard1152d ago

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi1152d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin1152d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it
