Dark Mist Review

Geekpulp writes "When this sees release on the PSN in the non Japanese areas I would strongly suggest at least trying the demo, it is fast paced and allows a good selection of weapons and attack modes. It is very enjoyable and with its great visual style incorporating the light versus dark theme and classic feel it would be my pick as one of the best downloadable games on offer through the PSN"

PSN has awesome original games. I'm very glad they don't try to pull the 360 and Wii routine of HD retro titles.

Brianemone6670d ago

Totally, I appreciate retro games for what they are but a new game with new features and a twist on a classic is soo much more my style

European PlayStation Store Update (3rd December 2009)

Mike Kebby on European Playstation.Blog writes:

"For the full list of content you know what to do, scroll down for the rundown. This week (and every week from now on actually) I'll be mentioning a few bits of content I think may be of particular interest to you. It's obvious that there are various pockets of different users visiting the store, and it's our job to try and make sure there's a good mixture of content available, so whilst there won't always be something for everyone every week, I think we're offering a very diverse range of content to suit most people's tastes."

"For anybody who finds Veteran difficulty on Modern Warfare 2 far too easy, then you would have probably checked out Operation Flashpoint already and the additional pack Dragon Rising Skirmish releases today adding extra multiplayer maps and FTE missions to test your skills further."

Far to easy...

Was hoping for FF8 or Vagrant Story, or at least news of them.

Sangria6016d ago

Don't be so sad. We had Little Mermaid, then last week Lilo & Stitch, and now Peter Pan... Maybe next week we will have Pepsi Man. Isn't that great?

Console Monster: Dark Mist Mini-Review

Console Monster writes: "Game Republic have tried to build on their previous success with Folklore, and provide us with a fun and entertaining PlayStation network title - and they've done a pretty good job in the shape of Dark Mist.

The basic gist of the story involves these alien type fantasy creatures who have taken out most of the galaxy, and have now turned their dark and evil charms on "the blue planet". They defeat everyone by utilising darkness. Just when it looks like everything is about to be consumed in the foes Dark Mist (see what they've done there?), you appear with your gleaming bow of light and magical powers to save the day..."

1 of the most underrated devs in the world right here. Genji 2 and Folklore are both very solid games and very well put together, graphically and thematically.

muddygamesite6553d ago (Edited 6553d ago )

yeah i used to have folklore, but sold it cos i got stuck. I got genji days of the blade. need to finish that after ninja gaiden sigma. They are good devs, but they need to find a solution to some frame-rate problems that plague their games.

Rumor: Dark Mist Not Coming to US

If you are like me, you are jealous that Dark Mist still isnt released to the US PS Store. It made it to the EU PS Store last month, and over a month ago to the Hong Kong store… It has left me wondering "when is it coming to the US Store"?

Bad news… Rumor has it that its not coming to the North America PS Store. Its unfortunate. But USA PSN users dont fret too much. There is a English version of the game in the HK Store… Heres how to get it…

F*CK!

Looks like I gotta get myself a Hong Kong account and a card. :\

Sev6571d ago

Both things are incredibly easy to do if you just read the whole post on PlayStation LifeStyle.

turbogeekx6571d ago

Yeah thanks for that by the way lol.

Delriach6571d ago

I recently purchased this game from the HK Store. Fun times.

Sev6571d ago

So is it more strategy or RPG? is it turn based?

Keowrath6570d ago

Sev, I got the UK version when it was released a couple weeks ago. I gotta admit it wasn't exactly what I was expecting and I did feel a little let down (but that's probably my own fault)

The game is pretty much an overhead shooter with 3 different weapons, charge attacks and smart bombs. Shoot the bad guys and move onto the next room, shoot more bad guys and maybe a bigger bad guy and move onto the next room until you get to the last room where there's a slightly bigger bad guy (the boss) shoot him and move onto the next level.

I haven't played the game too much only got through to the 3rd stage but I was expecting some sort of rpg elements or something and they're not there at all from what I've seen.

It's ok and it may get better further into the game (the expansion pack with the new characters sounds like it'll add some variety) but as far as I've got it just seems like a pretty (as in looks nice) standard OH shooter.

PirateThom6571d ago

Europe doesn't get Afrika, but we get Dark Mist.

Steve Urkel6570d ago

This isnt fair!!!!

Myrah was gonna buy it for me...
