Hows Steam on Linux, I was thinking of giving it a chance if it came to it 100% but can someone at least speak from personal experience on it?

I remember a few years back when everyone used to HATE this program with a passion. Now it's something no self-respecting PC Gamer should be without. Just curious though; I thought Steam had surmounted 6 million users yonks ago.

Well I was on Steam yesterday buying game for the computer I built on Saturday. It isn't top of the line, but it runs games great.

3rd Gen i5 3570k quad core @3.4Ghz
8Ghz RAM
Geforce GTX 660 with 2GB RAM

It's not the top of the line but it's a huge upgrade over my old Core Duo with an 8800GT video card. Microcenter had the i5 for $170, $20 cheaper than Amazon's "lightning" deal!

I was mainly a PC gamer in the early days of PS2 and Xbox then have been a console gamer since. My old PC ran Minecraft with a 128 texture pack at about 70FPS, my new one gets 170-230FPS. Everything loads almost instantly and there's no lag when I look over a mountain and the scenery is loaded. I bought Metro 2033 and it runs really nice. My monitor doesn't support ultra high resolutions however, but everything looks amazing none-the-less

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
