Besides looking at fun and entertainment and whether a candidate likes video games or doesn't, consider the REAL issues. I.E.: Global problems, economy, health care. I do, however, agree on that state. I believe that M games shouldn't be sold to minors on the bounds simply that the ESRB has these ratings for a reason. I think they should card kids. Simple as that. Some places have started this practice.

Being 19, I agree with the idea to make it illegal to sell M games to those under 17 as the rating suggests. Of course, that could just be because the law wouldn't affect me. XD

I think it's great that Obama has not been blaming violence on videogames..but unfortunately Obama for some reason (maybe cause he is a rookie or maybe just his crazy thinking) has been coming up with some crazy plans.

He wants to raise the tax on capital gains and dividends from 15% to near 30%. It sounds like old-fashioned tax on the rich to give to the poor..but its much more than that. When you raise taxes on investors..it discourages investing big time. The same thing happened in Germany a while ago and their economy has been pretty poor since. Businesses need investors in order to generate capital which allow them to grow and create more jobs.

Obama has also not been good with respect to pork barrel spending (he himself has committed this for his state of Illinois).

Although he would probably be good with respect to our world standing he really has no clue on how the economy works and his domestic policy plans show that.

Politics... When was the last time politicians promised something, win election and delivered? The only reason why some politicians are talking video games is because it helps them to do nothing... you see.. you blame video games to all the problems in the world.. and they can continue profitting from weapons sells while they provide solutions to non-existing problems... it also remove attention from where the real problem are... problems like proper health care to those nut heads that need help before they snap and kill some body... make it harder for possible killers from buying weapons and stop sending solders to war that may come dramatized and ready to kill somebody... there is a better chance that a solder comming from a iraq dealing with stress disorder to kill somebody than someone that plays Halo....

Commenting on the speach she made, I thinks it was pretty smart how she just briefly mentioned that research shows that kids gets more agressive from playing videogames and quickly continued to tie in the the reduction in IQ due to lead posioning and tobacco usage - casual audience will come away remembering: video games makes children more agressive and dumber....nice spin.

As always I personally find it proper to use common sense and let caution rule here - My wife and I never let our 6 year old son play anything violent or scary, for him it's Lego Starwars, Crash and Viva Pinata all the way :-D

Anyway, if anyones interested in learning more on kids and video games, do a seach on pubmed.com, highly recommended clinical papers abstracts database. Clinton actually got it right that research shows that boys get more agressive from playing agressive games, girls on the other hand does not. Research has also been done on the how tv and video games habits did influence childrens results in schools: execesive tv had a detrimental result, video games no change. Other interesting topics are that children has been shown to be able to recognize and choose between moral choices, and concentration and cogntive skills has been improved in mentally impared children.

Difficult subject an a lot of contracdictory research.

If you take a stance against something, in this case video games, you will always alienate a group of people. Unfortunately whether you like it or not the number of people who play video games and follow politics closely enough to care do not make up a significant voting block when compared to people with an overall sentiment that video games, movies, and music are "out of control". Essentially Hillary is just doing what Hillary does best: Figuring out which of two groups she can potentially get the most votes out of by attacking another one.

I'm glad that some people are finally figuring out what the rest of us knew about Hillary about 15 years ago.
