And the fact that it brings back a style of survival horror that’s been on the decline earns it extra points in my book. If you have a Wii U already, this is one of the titles you’ll want to check out right away."

The title says the criteria was explicitly written to mention Eternal Darkness. I am happy to see House of the Dead: OVERKILL on here. With the rise of Grindhouse themes in the 2010s, (ie WET), this was one that was both entertaining and camp funny.
Would be nice to see a new Zombie game set in the UK again, some of the landmarks, old architecture and the like really fits in well with the genre.

A bit hit or miss by the reviewers, but it seems to be decidedly breaking towards above average to good game for ZombiU.
Every hater saw what they wanted to see from one or two articles, some of them quite flawed. It's funny how people goalseek things.
So far 20 reviews are up on metacritic. 14 of 20 are scored 70 are better, with 12 of them 80 or better. Only 3 are under 60.
If you consider in reality, since gaming isn't a high school grade system, only one review has put it below average and the guy did a pretty poor job in the review. Made some points that some might agree with, but ones that are entirely subjective based on the player. Also forgot some gamepad features, and obviously didn't rate the local multiplayer with much weight, because he gave the game a 4.5 yet really liked the local multiplayer (which doesn't make sense unless the local multiplayer had almost no sway on the overall score).
The rest have been average (5-7ish), good (7ish-8) to borderline excellent (9).
Some people don't like it, others really love it. Sadly some people didn't let reality come out and canceled their pre-order based on one or two bad reviews. I find that pretty funny, especially since tons of games have this happen to them. Well I guess there was one more unit on the shelf for someone who wanted it.
The comments an Miiverse are overwhelmingly in favor of the game. This, is from the mouths of the players. Not some cubicle douchebag writing for gamespot or IGN. Hop on Miiverse, check out what people are saying and you will find the truth.
