GameFob: Our hero is falling to the planet’s surface, and this hero is Verticus. Protect the Earth from the evil obliterators in this action packed hybrid-genre game by Moonshark. While labeled as an action-adventure game, it’s truly a hybridization of an endless-runner and Sonic the Hedgehog, except vertical. In collaboration with Stan Lee himself, who is the voice of the Mission Commander, you’ll be armed to the teeth as a high-tech superhero that has to fall to the center of the Earth to retrieve the cosmic fuse, saving the Earth from destruction.

Triverse writes, "Stan Lee, the man behind some of the biggest comic book successes in history, from The Fantastic Four to The X-Men, has moved over to iOS games. With Verticus, we get that trademark Stan Lee quality permeating from everything including storyline to graphics. This looks like a motion comic book. Stop before you turn to another website, the term “motion comic” is not in reference to those comic books with auto panning and such that apparently found a small bit of popularity years ago on DVD."

Chris Buffa (Modojo): A month ago, comic book legend Stan Lee jumped into the iOS gaming scene with Verticus, an endless faller that sends players through the Earth's depths to thwart aliens from destroying mankind. Originally, we felt that, while enjoyable, Verticus should've been released as a free download. Thankfully, publisher Moonshark agrees, and the game will be available for zero dollars beginning tomorrow, December 19.
