All i can say is gamers...gotta lovem. They clearly didn't read that it's a choice to switch characters. A map this big and dense...people crying because they want the Sims. Rockstar has fallen off of what? I wonder who the top developers to then are..maybe the ones who make mediocre games trying to cater to everyones wishes...

I wonder if GTA 4 was supposed to have switchable characters. There were three main characters and three stories, yet the game was cut into three parts for DLC.

Those complaining are what is wrong with gamers today. They can go play their Call of Duty games every year, and the true gamers will enjoy watching a franchise evolve into something greater.

Who cares that it contains Yoga and Rock climbing. If you don't want to do those things then don't. I don't have a problem with controlling multiple characters during the campaign at all. For me most of my time is spent outside of the story just goofing off.
I wonder how many of the people that are complaining that it's not like the old GTA's complain about Call Duty being the same as the previous Call of Duty games. It's like developers can't win..

Personally I'm very excited to see this come out and I'm sure it will be lots of fun to play. Can't wait for spring time.

On the other hand, I love story-driven games and I love the direction of GTA games towards a more mature and serious tone. I don't want the game to be "the same old" with every new entry. As a mature gamer I'm not sure if I'd like to play as a "rapper gangster in the hood" or something just like it was in San Andreas. It might have been fun but as you grow older you tend to expect more than a fun experience from what you play. Therefore I liked Niko's story, and I'm all in for this new Tarantino type of crime drama.

Think about it, multiple characters mean a deeper storytelling, possible twists and surprises with backstabs and betrayals, a better organized crime feel and a better/deeper heist scheme that makes you feel like you're in one big convoluded crime war. Two of the characters are mid 40s, they're not your typical anti-heroes, which clearly shows us the maturistic approach Rockstar is taking with this game. I belive every gamer from all ages including the ones who play the game to enjoy the open-world map, or the ones who look for a deep, mature crime drama will like this game greatly. And that's why I think this will be the best GTA game ever released.

Grow the hell up.... they spent 4 years on this game and spent a hell of a lot of money and time away from their families to produce and make this game

I want to play and enjoy the game. I do not care if it's one, two, three or more main characters.

The GTA series is about gaming at it's best and I will enjoy every second of this new installment of the aswsome series

From reading the GI article, it became clear to me that more effort has gone into creating GTA V than any other 10 games. How people can complain about such petty things as character customization and buying properties is beyond me. I've never read about a game this ambitious before. The preview left me awestruck. This sounds like my dream game. If Rockstar pulls this off, this would be the last video game I ever need to play. I could die a happy man! Every game I play between now and GTA V will just feel like filler.

I'm happy that they improved the vehicle physics further in this one, and the graphics look very good.

I also hope they dial down the friend calls a bit in this one, I personally quickly grew tired of those.

The comment about Rockstar being lazy developer. Just wow, Rockstar is one of those rare developers that go into serious detail in every GTA game, far from laziest.

Character switching at first was iffy to me, but I know it will work very well. For the most part I know I'll be playing as Michael anyway so I don't care.

The people complaining are morons. Rockstar could very well allow us to use only one character then sell the other two characters as DLC like they did with Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony, but instead of giving us one story and then working on the other two after release, they're giving us more for our money.

We're not having to pay extra for DLC that allows us to play these extra characters, we're getting Episodes From Los Santos from the very start.

The only difference between this and Episodes From Liberty City are that instead of being forced to quit the current game and choosing a different story, you can switch to whatever character you want to play as.

I'm sure switching to another character will be either a home option that you're required to go home and then switch to another character from there, or a menu option either in the start menu or somewhere on your phone. I'm leaning towards it'd be a home option, basically this player sitting at home on his day off while you play as someone else.

Wow, so people are annoyed that Rockstar isn't doing things exactly like they've done with just about every other GTA title before. I, for one, am welcoming this change with open arms. The few details released thus far have me completely excited for GTA V. I swear, I love videogames but the fans make me hesitant to call myself a fan as well. Buncha whining, entitled babies who feel the need the need to shit on something before even trying it out yourselves.

The only thing that worries me is whether the soundtrack is any good, GTAIV had a terrible soundtrack, Vice City and San Andreas had two of the best soundtracks in gaming history.

People just need to wait and play the game. I personally don't have high hopes after the disappointment that was GTA4, but I'm still willing to give it a shot.

I thought it would be a good way to do new dlc. Just add new characters. Seems to make sense. Besides Gta 4 had numerous charac ters too. GTA 5 gives you two free ones at launch.

Rockstar can do whatever they want and make the game however they want. Don't like it? Make a better game for yourself. for all we know it may not even be a character switching the whole way but each character stories may cross path with one another allowing to switch on the fly as the end results to the mission or whatever would be the same i think

I love all of the people making it out like as if GTA 4 was a failure. It sold millions. Your whining and complaining because they didn't have a bunch of shit jokes in the game are just hilarious. GTA 4 got high score because it deserved it. I don't doubt Rockstar. They know how to make a good game. The three characters thing is odd but with the way it's done it's going to be quite interesting.. I like that I could be out and about doing things and one of the other guys could go driving/walking by. I'm excited for the game and I'm sure it'll be yet another, Rockstar classic.

Will wait for GTA 5 on PC.. probably 6-12 months behind though xD

I'll probably still get it. GTA4 was my least liked GTA i didnt even like the story. It became predictable. Somebody betray you at the beginning your out for revenge. I hope the story is up there if not better than Vice City and San Andreas.
