Okugi Studio developer and CEO, Sophie Peseux, spoke with Indie Game HQ to discuss their recently released game Shad’O as well as touch upon the development process. Shad’O is a unique tower defense game that has you defend against the fog as you try to restore you memory. This fog was apparently the most time consuming and resource intensive part of development, and it appears as though they perfected it. The game is a tower defense game unlike any other on the market currently.
Destructoid: "Shado'O offers a solid tower defense experience, albeit one that doesn't take advantage of its unique setting and story. While mechanically sound, despite some frustrations when it comes to unit placement around the fog, it's nothing you probably haven't played before."
Andrei Dumitrescu: "Shad’O, a tower defense title created by Okugi Studios and available on the PC via Valve’s Steam, shows how the genre can transcend its origins and deliver fast-paced gameplay that has some depth while also trying to tell a story that involves childhood, memories, the march of adulthood and the fantasies we build to protect ourselves."
