Remembering… Darkstalkers 3

Darkstalkers has always felt like the odd man out in the pantheon of fighting games, and not just because its cast is made up of homages to classic Universal Studios monsters. No, it’s because while it’s a recognizable franchise with characters that make their way into other Capcom titles, it has never reached the level of widespread popularity as the likes of Tekken or Street Fighter. Despite this, the series has managed to spawn several sequels.

Nothing unexpected about being hot! These are character designs and characters are not designed unexpectedly~

Too bad the site wants me to click multiple pages just to see them get upset about furry art. Not worth it.

PlayStation: From A to Z – The Letter “D”

Ken McKown writes: The From A to Z series lets our editors go back and take a look at games from past generations that are classics, overlooked gems, or just titles they remember fondly. The idea behind this is to pick five games from each letter of the alphabet, once a week to showcase. This delivers 26 weeks and 130 games to talk about. Hopefully it sparks some conversation, and of course plenty of memories.

Our first series will focus on Sony’s first entry into the console business, the PlayStation.

Let’s continue with the letter “D”.

i remember i was obsessed with car damage for as long as i can remember (even use to smash up my Matchbox with a hammer. and yes, i still do). and the first time i saw that hood crumple up, heard the sound of the impact and saw debris fly everywhere, i was amazed and hooked by how realistic it seemed. it was good for the GBA too; that was a dream come true before GTA for PSP was even a thought.

This is such an awesome idea! I forgot all about the Die Hard game. I also played the hell out of Destruction Derby 2. Those old car physics were awesome. You forgot one game that NEEDS to be on this list though.....DRIVER!

Playstation was my favorite system for its first two generations and man, what an awesome exclusive library. Spyro, Castlevania, Crash, what a fun system.
