IGN are money hungry people. I dont think they could care less about actual gamers its all about perks and money :/

I personally prefer game informer over IGN. However, I don't think I would call them evil.

this article is dumb and seems to make little sense. most* people read reviews to help them determine if a game is worth the investment or not so tech. ign warning customers to hold off would just be them doing their jobs.

i have little doubt ign reviews some games fairly and bumps some scores for money but calling them dr evil is a bit of a stretch lol. read/watch the reviews and use the info they provide in any way you want. its just their opinion, we typically dont see eye to eye on games but their reviews do what i personally need them too more often then not and thats a description of the final features and gameplay.

also i like greg miller, i think he is pretty funny. brian altano isnt so bad either. i mostly just like up at noon

While this article isn't exactly good by any means, it did actually make me think about the trailers released by Medal of Honor with press coverage quotes in them. Especially with the major one being pushed by EA "Warfighter won me over" or whatever it said, but it was by IGN. Expecting about a 6 or 7 from IGN, so we'll see how it matches up with their previews...

I never use IGN for reviews, I use gametrailers I find them very fair (99% of the time) plus it is split into good sections.

I think people should be careful to blindly trust ANY review. Some like pizza and some don't. Some like listening to Metallica and some dont.

Some just love Call of Duty games, and some hate it with every fiber of their body.

Company buys IGN for $100 million and your going to ask if they care about money or gamers? I doubt someone will spend that kind of cash and not care about the return. Stupid article is stupid. All they are doing is trying to make themselves sound cooler.

What? That was a poorly written and disjointed article. IGN is not the only site to not review MOH. Gametrailers and GiantBomb haven’t reviewed the game yet. If you look at the places that have, POMUK, Eurogamer, the game has poor reviews. Shane Satterfield and Marcus Beier on Invisible Walls stated how they did not get the game from EA to review, which is why their review is not up yet. They also said that when a company has confidence in their game, they send out review copies with ample time. EA does not have confidence in MOH, which is why the big sites are yet to review it. IGN may be Dr. Evil for other reasons, but not for not reviewing MOH or giving it a low score. You can hate them, but your reasons have to be just, not this trite.

I feel that that some people in IGN are stupid. I am a big time Silent Hill fan and I got Silent Hill Downpour and IGN rated it a 4.5 when other gamesites were rating is 7 to 8.

I played and felt the game was at least an 8. I think the lack of enemies design and technical issues were the only thing hurting the score but the overall game is pretty good!

So I will never look at IGN as a good source for reviews! I feel they get people who don't even play the games to even know what the F they are talking about!? Two bad things in the gaming industry. Gamestop and IGN!

I actually like IGN, I don't know anything about the company besides the people who work there (Greg, Colin, Ryan etc...) I think their reviews are honest. I also enjoy their podcasts. The guy in the video Is pretty much saying hold off if you're not sure whether to buy the game and wait for the review. Whats the big deal?

of the games I own that IGN review I usually end up agreeing with them, sometimes they will tell you to flat out avoid buying a game but sometimes you need that, they go up the ladder first so we don't have to. Of course their words can't be taken as law.

Evil no, reliable? Definitely not. If anyone belivies none of IGN's reviews are susceptible to being bought, that person must be very naivr.

If you are on the fence though, reviews(more than 1) should lean you one way or the other.

Awesome! I have to agree with the author that he noticed the same thing I noticed about IGN saying to hold off on buying the game till they reviewed it. As a person in the marketing industry, I would be furious if a media outlet told their followers to hold out on buying a product our company created. But then again, the media outlet is looking for the best interest of their audience, and the article did point out that EA sent the copy of the game on the day of release for reviewing. We will have to see.

Once upon a time IGN was a source that i trusted for game reviews. Those days are finished. Activision throws money at them and they give the same recycled game no less then a 9 every year. COD is as generic as you can get but it gets very high scores. They are indeed corrupt. You cant trust any video game reviewer any more.

Ive never gone by reviews, Its just another opinion of the game. Sure they go over quality but only briefly.

I have always been able to tell if I want to get a game by just watching it being played, you can tell if it is going to be fun or not.

Two of my recent favourite purchases have been Chivalry medieval warfare & Primal Carnage, two unknown indie games that would probably recieve a 6/10 from IGN but both of which are just a hell of alot more fun to play than the AAA games of today.

Chivalry: First person medieval multiplayer hack and slash that is very fun to play

Primal Carnage: Dinosaur vs human multiplayer combat.

Both unique and fresh ideas away from the typical Halos, Gears, CODs, BFs etc etc that are under appreciatted.

First things first anyone actually thing ign cares about gamers No there is not one Multi million dollar corp that really cares about its consumers they care a bout the dollar So they disguise greed with kindness DUrrrr Almost like the art of war well it is the art of war....

Never trust IGN reviews. in fact, get reviews from gamers, not magazines and site that get commission for talking good about some games.
For Example: Medal Of Honor may have some problems, but the game itself runs soooo smooth and MP it's a great mix between COD and BF3. Love it so far!

Let´s just look how credible they are... Mass Effect 3 and it´s their job that there should be 16 endings or Leviathan should change endings.

I have seen their video review of Leviathan right few days in front of release that DLC, Gamble said straight to face of their journalist that there won´t be a change of endings just little add upon the conversation with Catalyst, yet IGN fart out their review with big caption like: LEVIATHAN WILL CHANGE ENDINGS !

IGN is everything but not credibile, but in these times of crisis is most of the journalist just a paid jackals.

it never sat right that IGN was in the mix and not by choice but via acquisition. I had a feeling that IGN loved them for modern stuff but I had a feeling retro content was getting pushed to the backburner as John had started a comparison series of games that launched on both PS1 and Saturn but the video never received a part 2 like planned

When DF said Drago Age the Vailguard was a technical masterpiece I lost all hope.
Oh and trashing Stellar blade as a jester year game.

Don't care about their content at all cause today, technical difference between platforms doesn't matter cause mostly, if not all of gamers have their game library on one.

Every Digital foundry article is the same boring ass, dry, stat comparison that only weirdos, who don’t actually play the games they buy, obsess over. I’ve no idea why they have such a good reputation.

Really enjoy DF and genuinely believe they’re a league ahead of 95% of the gaming content on the internet. They’re clearly top of the game in the industry and have been for a long, long time now.

Hope to see them continue this for a very long time to come.
