it all comes down to marketing. The wii became an overnight success because of its unique way to play. the idea that anyone could play a game that hadnt before. It worked, no discredit there.

Nintendo needs to show this new controller and really express that it isnt simply a new controller but a whole new experience that cant be done on their existing wii's.

I dont know if any company before offered a trade in program from their previous system to the new one. Like people go and trade in their old car for a new one. i know that example is a stretch but if nintendo were to offer up a $50 trade in for the wii to wii-u i would bet millions would jump on that.

Especially if they were reassured from nintendo that all their existing software and accessories would work with no problem. WE know that to be true (the dedicated gamers) but the millions of others out there that bought one because it was the thing to do...don't.

That was a selling point for people who bought a ds when the gba was so popular. Same goes for those with a ds to dsi or 3ds. The hook was the consumer wasnt losing anyhting but gaining more for that investment.

If they dont get the right marketing team, the wii-u will be seen like someone who has a dvd player and there is bluray on the shelf and them not knowing there is a real benefit to the upgrade.

If what they have does what they want then there wont be unit sold.

That’s what I was thinking, imagine them winning hypothetically, getting a s**t load of money back which they would have lost if they hadn’t raised their prices and it’s business as normal.

It would just mean people paid more for no reason since they got the money back anyway.

A lot of companies partially passed the cost to consumers instead of all of it. They would still have to at least pay that back to gamers, but we know that won't happen. What's also sad is that prices won't come back down after the initial hike caused by tariffs.

People didn't understand the full repercussions of tariffs. That alone should have cost him the presidency if people knew it was a permanent price hike for consumers

Naw they should sue the government for forcing the tax to begin with. No one reasonably expects these companies to absorb the taxes. Many smaller companies tried and were shut down or faced to increase prices to try to maintain their business. The tariffs effect everyone.

The companies were doing what the law required then to do, the tariffs however were illegally implemented. Usually it's criminals we punish, you seem to have different ideas 🤷‍♂️
