FTG writes- At New York Comic Con 2012, there are many vendors, artists, and industry talents. Among these great talents were a group of guys from Austin, Texas known for their live action shorts, animated series, and internet cinematic shows called machinima: Rooster Teeth. We sat down – OK, more like stood next to – their Matt Hullum (Rooster Teeth co-founder, Red vs. Blue writer/director/voice of ”Sarge”) to discuss their latest Red vs. Blue episodes and upcoming Season 10 DVD/Blu-Ray set.

I’ll admit, I’m not a huge Rooster Teeth fan. I really enjoy Red Vs Blue, but that’s about as far as my relationship with RT goes. When my boyfriend got fangirl levels of excited about Rooster Teeth holding their own show, I was intrigued.

Rooster Teeth's Let's Play: Live Documentary only serves to highlight the increasing prevalence of gaming culture.

Matt Ceo RT:
Our friend, inspiration and co-worker Monty Oum passed away yesterday afternoon at 4:34 PM surrounded by people who loved him very much. Ten days ago Monty suffered a severe allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure that left him in a coma. Although he fought bravely, his body was not able to recover. During his time in the hospital he was well cared for and never in pain at any time.
Just had myself a cry over this. Of all of Roosterteeth I always looked up to him. An amazing creative talent matched by none. Honestly after reading first announcement it was obvious he was in a coma. I just couldn't have prepared myself for him never making the recovery. Too tragic. Far too young.
This hits me right in the heart. I would spend hours as a teenager watching and rewatching Dead Fantasy videos. It's sad to see someone with talent go so soon.
RIP. A true loss, And he has been a huge inspiration to me for a long while now.
