The 360 has shipped 70 million units now, 1.7 million in September. Baring in mind that all of those 1.7 million won't have sold yet, I think VGchartz is pretty close. They may have undertracked it or overtracked it by around 200,000, but it's still in the right ball park. We'll have to wait to see what Sony's shipped numbers are before we can tell whether VGChartz has overtracked or undertracked the PS3.

All in all though a very good week for Nintendo and Sony and not bad at all for the 360 either. I would estimate that the 360 will have around a 3 million lead going into next year, with PS3 more or less level by mid to late 2013 and Nintendo on around 8 million Wiius (If it sells like crazy this Christmas, which I believe it be likely do so)

The Vita will do good numbers (for a Vita) this Christmas but once again the 3DS will sell very very well.

PS3 is so close to overtaking the 360. Its impressive to know that the PS3 has sold almost as many consoles as the 360, while releasing one year after the 360. With the sales trends showing the PS3 selling a million more consoles per year over the 360, I think this time next year the PS3 will have overtaken the 360. No point in talking about the Wii since the software for that system is crap.

I'm a Sony fan but I feel that's a tad 'optimistic'. Drawing close enough to call it a draw by mid 2013 yes, but overtaking? Not a chance just yet. I'm just being honest here and not having a dig at you. It was only that last sentence that stopped me giving you a bubble though.

PS3 had a good week. Xbox 260 is about to have a good couple weeks over the next 1-3 weeks. Then Wii U will have a good few months.

^ All is good for the gaming industry.

The 360 always outsells the PS3 by about 1 - 1.5 million over Christmas, which is why I say it'll have around a 3 million lead going into next year. The PS3 always outsells the 360 from mid January for the rest of the year (Until Christmas time again) which is why I say that 3 million will more or less have gone by mid to late 2013. BUT, the Wiiu could effect this drastically, IF the PS3 slimmer doesn't get a significant price cut with all the AAA titles that are coming next year. Bundles are the key here.

Its good to see the PS3 and the 360 doing well and hopefully the Vita and the Wii U will have a good holiday season. I don´t even mention the 3DS because all it takes is a Mario game to make it sell like crazy and they have that this holiday season with Paper Mario and Luigis Mansion.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
