MGS movie

The Metal Gear Solid (MGS) series has a cult status amongst gamers that few videogames have achieved.

Created by Japanese games guru Hideo Kojima back in 1987 on the NES(Nintendo Entertainment System) as Metal Gear, the series started off as an 8-bit stealth game and has evolved into one of the most pioneering videogames on the planet.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is scheduled for a release this year on the PS3 and looks set to be one of the most amazing gaming experiences ever created.

Back in May 2006 Hideo Kojima announced that an film adaptation of MGS was in development

......However it would HAVE to be directed by Hideo Kojima and I cant really picture who would make a good Snake???......
.....
..
.."The JOEY has Spoken"

riqued6676d ago

Not a good idea!

I would only accept it if Kojima directed the movie and if he makes at least 2 movies to tell the story in Shadow Mosses.
And he could make it CGI, so Hayter and other voice actors could be used.

The guy who does his voice actually looks like snake, so maybe him.

Kenshin_BATT0USAI6675d ago

christian bale or hugh jackman i cant thnk of anybody else for snake as for ocelot http://i88.photobucket.com/...

mazirjones6676d ago

Maybe you should be Solid Snake...

However I do feel that this masterpiece of a gaming saga should not be made into a live action movie... Why should it, it already comes across as a movie, and then some! It's best to keep this one untouched and untainted.

tethered6676d ago

You are dead on with ocelot.
Sam Elliott would be the perfect choice.

RecSpec6675d ago

With Tom Cruise playing the role of Raiden.

see Nintendo gave birth to all the greatest gaming franchises known to man

the POS3 might be getting the best game ever(MGS4) but Nintendo started it and Fony stole it from us

Sony ha PWNED Nintendo.

Kaz Hirai6676d ago

Your loving master, King Kaz, has negotiated with his good friend Hideo Kojima to bring you the Metal Gear Solid movie! Xbot PIGS, Nintendo GEESE- you do not deserve to watch this marvellous piece of cinematic genius!
To be released in cinemas worldwide in 2009!
And exclusively on HD-DVD in 2010................just kidding!!!

MWAH-HA-HA-HA!!!

Reggie Fils- Aime6676d ago

well the Nintendo "geese" as you call them can play many great games while your POS3 only has Uncharted and Ratchet to show for itself

the Xbot pigs meanwhile..... have nothing that isn't on PC

Kaz Hirai6676d ago

But clearly you cannot comprehend the sheer flood of AAAAAAAA titles available on the PerfectionStation 3! Hideo Kojima agrees with me! He abandoned you Nintendo GEESE and we welcomed him into the PlayStation family with open arms!

MWAH-HA-HA-HA!!!

Reggie Fils- Aime6676d ago

you mean you tortured him to subject to your command

you obviously implanted some drug into his brain because no sane person would choose to work with Fony instead of the legendary Nintendo

Kaz Hirai6676d ago

It seems you have forgotten about these numerous developers who have nothing but love and respect for Sony: Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Team ICO,
Polyphony Digital, Zipper Interactive, SCE Santa Monica and........who else? Ah, yes! Hideo Kojima! He dropped you GEESE quicker than Nazisoft drops their foolish PIG customers!

MWAH-HA-HA-HA!!!

Reggie Fils- Aime6676d ago

hahahahahahahaha

moronic droid

you mention Sony Santa Monica yet you forget that your POS company created them and that's why they have respect for Fony- thats how they get paid idiot

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman36d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
