Shack News - The Stay Awhile and Listen series continues with author David Craddock as we lead up to the October 29 reveal of a chapter from his upcoming book. Today's stories revolve around a possible second expansion for Diablo 2 and a Diablo game for handhelds.
"Following Diablo 2's release, Blizzard North split into two teams ... kind of," Craddock said. "One team immediately started in on D2's expansion set, Lord of Destruction. The other team went into spitball mode, kicking around ideas for a new IP. But several other developers ventured into groups of two or three and put together proposals for smaller projects. One of those was given the working title Diablo Junior, a game tentatively planned for the Game Boy Color and/or the Game Boy Advance, depending on market share and other business-y factors

i get the “weird combo” angle, but i’m curious what you think holds up best: diablo’s atmosphere, balatro’s loop, or kh3’s combat. i bounced off kh3 hard after seeing casino junk shoved into a fan discord, including https://monopolybigballerli... and it soured my mood for anything with flashy “chance” mechanics. balatro still feels clever to me since the randomness is the point and you’re making real decisions around it. also had a similar spam wave on a retro forum with https://red-baron.org/ and https://dream-catcher-game.... and it’s annoying how it derails game talk.

what fomo? everything gets reset each season and you start new characters unless you're playing on the regular servers and then you're already maxxed anway and just need to participate in the new season stuff.
i played only during launch and i found the ones in that battlepass to be absolute dogwater, the only ones that looked somewhat cool were the paid ones in the store and i wont bother with either. The game itself was just so hollow, there were no cool builds cause every synergy was just "x or y skills does more dmg or has this extra effect" almost no experimentation needed, couldnt give a rats ass about armor if the core of the game is boring af.

Finally some love for diablo 3, I completely agree with its placing! Very nice coop on the ps3 back in the day, but solo was a good grind as well, very enjoyable.
The only thing that irked me was buying the complete or ultimate edition or whatever and suddenly introducing a dlc that's not included.
Diablo 3 > Diablo 2. I tried D2 after playing D3 many times and didn't like that nearly as much as 3.
