In the wake of all the controversy and mixed reviews surrounding Resident Evil 6, check out this proposed parallel story that both takes the series back to its roots and incorporates elements from modern American horror.

A new rating of Resident Evil 6 for Xbox has been spotted, which could suggest that it's getting a current gen port for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
I loved Resident Evil 4 back in the day and enjoyed Resident Evil 5 even though I had to do co-op to beat the final boss. Shiva was just too dumb.
Resident Evil 6 on the other hand, was so bad that I stopped playing after an hour in the game. That was before I even played any high-quality single-player games outside of Mass Effect, Portal, and Skyrim. I can't imagine playing RE6 now.
Chances are their next remake will be 5.
I just don't get why it's already on the platforms via BC unless it's a remake which would piss everyone off as fans are hoping for either the original game or code veronica to get the remake treatment

GF365: "The iconic survival horror franchise Resident Evil boasts a great number of popular and memorable characters. Arguably, Leon S. Kennedy is the most popular and recognizable character aside from Jill Valentine. In this article, we'll be counting down every Resident Evil game Leon is featured in, ranked."
Yeah I figured it would be ordered like this. For me Leons best game was his debut. RE2.

The modern entertainment industry has witnessed the rise of the Resident Evil franchise as one of its most renowned and celebrated multimedia phenomena. With numerous video games released across multiple platforms, it can be daunting for newcomers to determine where to commence their journey. So here is every main mainline Resident Evil Games ranked.
In preparation for the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake, let’s take the liberty to rank each of the mainline story instalments, providing players with a fundamental comprehension of the Resident Evil universe.
resident evil 4 was a great innovation and a step in the right direction, it combined intense shooting and classic inspired non strictly linear game design, my fav res games are resi 2 and resi 4
I actually enjoy RES 6, nearly finish the game on Pro and playing with someone as a partner. It's very fun, but i do realise some of the clunky controls especially the swimming part.
I hope they better it on RES 7, BUT not a reboot.
A rare article to find on N4G. Well written and good insights by the author.
I agree with the author in that the setting should be an isolated location somewhere. The woods; an old town; somewhere where the player will feel that he is cut off from the world. While they're at it, I believe they should bring back the fixed camera angles. It really added to the atmosphere and cinematic feel of the game. Bring back that 'unsettling stillness' that you can feel from timeless horror films such as 'The Ring' and 'The Shining'.
They can even mix the fixed camera angles and RE4's over the shoulder camera (say when you're outside exploring/shooting vs. indoor locations).
Also agree on the protagonist. He should be an ordinary guy/girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances (ala Harry Mason from Silen Hill or Ellen Ripley from Alien). The players need to feel vulnerable; maybe a bit helpless (although not necessarily weak).
