Well that was unexpected. Good luck to him..

bubblebeam4969d ago

So much hate for someone who brought life into the industry. Gaming needs it faces, and whether you like them or not, it is good for the industry. We need characters.

He was a dick, but I thought he was funny. I was never butt-hurt over what he said, like most people.

If people read past the headlines, they may have learned something, perhaps even seen him differently than what they do now. Too many intellectually inept people believing everything they see. Shame. Especially considering he has accomplished more than most of them ever will. FACT.

E3 2013 Cliffy makes a surprise appearance on stage and announces a brand new AAA killer action Ip for MS's new Xbox.

(Sigh) heres hoping, see you soon Cliff.

majiebeast4969d ago (Edited 4969d ago )

Doubt it. Microsoft doesnt do new IP's havent you watched the last 3 E3's? I see him going independent with a small studio.

AngelicIceDiamond4969d ago (Edited 4969d ago )

Chill its just wishful thinking.

MS making exclusives for there next console anyway.

According to the rumor they've started on them since 2010. Which makes sense.

2010 they had a good amount of exclusives 2011 was completely dry and this year is a little more than last year, meaning MS need something to tie them in for the holiday and early next year.

See the pattern?

EDIT: it was actually the past 2 E3's. This past E3 they presented more games.

Is it me...or are people giving "sudden" love?
It never occurred to me people actually gave 2 cents about Cliffy.

People are overreacting like hell over this.

JAMurida4969d ago

It seems people always give sudden love when someone leaves or dies and then a few days later it's back to usual business.

After seeing him on Game trailer's Bonus Round were he put his input on the Gaming industry, it's wasn't that big of a shock why he left.

Sarcasm4969d ago (Edited 4969d ago )

It's a Knee Jerk reaction.

He has had some large influence though on the gaming industry, so of course there is credit given to him.

But just like David Jaffe, just because you've made a few good things doesn't mean it's a ticket to douche-bag comments about everything else.

ChickeyCantor4969d ago

Giving credit is one thing. Pretending it's a retiring hero is something else.

SolidDuck4969d ago

I loved the gears games, but always thought ol cliffy was a tool.

Disney Should Buy Fortnite And Epic Games, Former Exec Says

The Walt Disney Company's new CEO, Josh D'Amaro, is a big fan of video games, and one former Disney executive believes D'Amaro would be smart to do even more in gaming going forward. This could include a buyout of a gaming company like Epic Games.

In an interview with CNBC, Kevin Mayer--a former Disney and TikTok executive who now runs Candle Media--said D'Amaro will need to take "bold steps" to help Disney make more money and grow its stock price. One part of this could be doing more in gaming, he said.

Apparently nobody remembers the absolute shitshow that happened when EA brought the Havok engine which was used as the default engine of the 6th generation like UE is used today.

SkilledGamer43d ago

You've got it wrong, EA bought Renderware not Havok. Havok was bought by Intel in 2007 and then Microsoft in 2015

Fishy Fingers43d ago (Edited 43d ago )

Nor was it ever a widely used or considered, game engine, Renderware was. It was and still is a physics/material simulation plugin for the actual game engines.

Profchaos43d ago

Yeah you're right i was thinking of Renderware. But point still stands Renderware was used literally everywhere from games like GTA 3,VC,SA to Sonic games and Tony hawk it was really the default industry wide engine that UE is today.

If Disney takes over Epic and UE we could face a situation where they change the terms of use for other game devs big and small. They could remove the licensing agreements currently in place and impose a payment per download model like Unity did which could cripple the industry.

TOTSUKO43d ago

Fck Disney stock and their shareholders.

blacktiger43d ago

Well I can imagine DIsney with their transgender Snowwhite and black cinderally and mermaid and other garbage. Imagine video games lmao!!!

shinXseijuro43d ago

Huey_My_D_Long42d ago

Dumbass cant even spell Cinderella but apparently he's upset by the 1997 Cinderella classic starring Brandy. Almost 20 year old movie.
Just say you dont like black people man, we all know it.

rlow143d ago

I really hope this doesn’t happen. They ruin everything that they buy. Terrible company

Zerobalance43d ago (Edited 43d ago )

Trolling. Hope Disney take the Maval characters like Spider-Man and Wolverine away from Sony and make it themselves that would me laugh so hard.
