Cant talk about the gameplay as i didnt play it, but what i saw of DMC at the Eurogamer Expo was amazing visually. Devs are really putting these old consoles through their paces, hard to believe current gen can still look so good. The last couple of years are always interesting in a consoles life.

I believe that the reason for success with the earlier Devil May Cry is because they offered more of a complete gaming experience that even by today's games standards can't match.

One does not simply create the game which the fans wanted.

I've been rather skeptical about the game myself, but people getting so worked up purely over Dante's appearance has reached a level of ridiculous that can only occur on the internet. The gameplay I have seen with the living city looks pretty badass. And these guys have made some kickass games previously anyway. Lets see what the non-biased reviews have to say first.

i dunno about public opinion but my opinion is that aside from the morphing technology ( that bring nothing special in gameplay ) there is nothing special about this game.

As for the fps debate MGS rising comes with 60 fps goodness action so , well ..i know what i'll buy next year for sure..

The new found positivity toward this game is entirely a press invention. The nay-sayers aren't turned, they're just bored.

Said press invention was nothing new anyway . Every new Ninja theory game the press take it as a darling and tries to hype it , and yet it still fails .

Taking an existing IP and riding its coattails is pretty much NT's last or latest chance to do better than Heavenly sword sales wise .

Either way , other than wishing the game to bomb so the franchise could be properly revived or put out of its misery (better than agony even if not my choice) , i dont care that much anymore .

I have great stuff like Metal Gear Rising to look forward to instead , a short few weeks later

Since when dose journalists who get paid to say what the developers want to hear count as public opinion? I still see nothing but well deserved hate for this game.

I think this game will be fun. I'll give it a try and I'll try to think of it as a new series rather than DmC.

Metal Gear Rising will blow this game out the water. I'm not getting this game because NT insults their fans and Capcom has become delusional. Besides with the game running at 30fps and easy to do combos, DMC 3 shits on this.

Hmm so the whole 30 FPS vs 60 FPS debate is settled huh?

Considering Kojima asked Inaba at Platinum Games to make sure Rising is 60 FPS along with Kojima describing in his tweets for the MGS HD Collection how increasing the frames from 30 to 60 appears more fluid to the human eye, I'm going to say 60 is better especially if its for an action game.
