Rayman Legends hands-on preview | BeefJack

BeefJack: "Rayman Legends genuinely feels like an animation come to life before your eyes, taking the already outstanding Rayman Origins formula and upping the visual fidelity to new levels. It also provides the best demonstration yet of why the Gamepad really could be a game-changer for local co-op play, and is looking like it will be an essential purchase when the Wii U launches at the end of November."

in another article, i read that this game will support 5 player local co-op. Which is it 4 or 5?

Simonkey754971d ago

It is - as stated in the preview - 4 players with Wii Remotes plus the player with the GamePad, so 5 in total.

same as New Super Mario Bros U. 4 players with wii remotes, 1 with the gamepad. 5 in total. Although I would argue for Super Mario Bros it is more 4.5 players since the gamepad player doesn't do too much. With Rayman, the gamepad player does a lot more to interact with the game.

This game looks fantastic. I may have to purchase this game as well on launch day.

Little Big Planet, lol. No.

LBP3 and rayman legends are the best here.

Puppeteer is really good. Nobody played it because it came out right before PS4 came out. When I went to pick up Puppeteer from GameStop some people were trading in their old consoles for PS4 preorder.

Ubisoft barely have a leg to stand on lately, so do they need to crack open the vaults and return platforming royalty to glory for some goodwill?

We need Rayman 4, they could make a great platformer game if they wanted. With the open hub levels and the like.

Better than relying on Rabbids and Assassins Creed all the time

Profchaos806d ago

Yeah agree id love a Rayman 2 style 3d platform game over another 2d platformer I know people loved legends but it never gelled with me same as Rayman 1 back in the day on PS it just felt like a average platformer with sonic and Mario offering something better on what was then last gen hardware

Terry_B807d ago

Yes..but I am sure it won't be the Rayman game fans want. Not from the company that is Ubisoft today.

mastershredder807d ago (Edited 807d ago )

Ancel is retired from games. His hoodlum/rabbid team are doing their own thing. It would not be the same if Ubisoft did.

Profchaos806d ago

Probably far more profitable to make low effort Rabbids games aimed at kids over a next Rayman

Chocoburger806d ago

Experience points, skill trees to fill up, level gating, endless menial tasks and side quests, constantly scrounging for resources. Always having to upgrade your gear. A.KA. "The Ubisoft effect".

No thanks, don't ruin Rayman's legacy.

Profchaos806d ago

Sure there will be it'll launch right alongside the next splinter cell
