NowGamer: Has the Resident Evil 6 demo hurt Capcom's series? It almost certainly has thanks to Capcom picking a bland mix of uninspiring action and QTEs.
However, the Resident Evil 6 demo hasn't hurt the series as much as these demos hurt theirs...

Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Capcom has clarified its current stance on generative AI in its videogames. The major Japanese publisher and developer behind popular series like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter has revealed that while it doesn't use gen-AI assets in their games, it is exploring ways to use generative AI to streamline the game development process.
Using Artificial Intelligence (more like Realistic Stupidity) art assets in your games is a great way to get people to boycott your product. We don't need that ugly, unsophisticated, generic, fake art in our games, good on CAPCOM for not using that garbage.
Naw you can't fool us, You work with Nvidia, that's a fact! And here you wanted to advertise but now look stupid!
I would definitely agree that the demo gave people a negative perception of the game. Perhaps if they made the tutorial prologue the demo that would have been a better decision. That or just choose another chapter for each character.
so many qte's
I would say so, from what I have played those were the worst parts of the game so far. Although negative reviews also help.
Oh thanks goodness it wasn't just me. I LOVED RE 1-5 (yes, even RE5, and even managed to platinum it), but the demo for RE6 was just... Meh. I know demos don't represent the quality of the full version, but it just didn't feel right. Enemies using guns? The feck? RE5 may have been panned for being too "action-y", but at least it felt like RE4, albeit with a partner always with you. RE6's demo... Had TOO MUCH action. There was no single "horror" in both Jake and Chris' part. Just shoot like a madman, and spam Melee attacks. Leon's part was decent, and it could have been better if the producers just made him work solo. He's already proven himself a badass by surviving Raccoon City and the Los Plagas incident, so a new zombie threat shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Disappointment aside, did anyone actually buy the Premium Edition? The one that included Leon's jacket??
OMG, is it so hard to see that a Resident Evil in the vein of the 1st and 2nd game is what the fans want.
FFS, i can't believe how short sighted Capcom is.
